A number of laws would have been violated in the acquisition of the Agri Fortuna estate by Sun Champ:
1. Agrarian reform law;
2. non payment of capital gains. (tax evasion)
3. registration of the building in the name of Sun Champ by Gregorio without proper authorization.
Tius companies, publicly listed at PSE were found to have violations too: ANI, Sun Champ, Earthright Holdings and GreenEnergy.
From Inquirer News - Can Tiu afford Hacienda Binay
Can Tiu afford Hacienda Binay?
His father left him P10 million in debt. He graduated in 1996 and soon thereafter founded the Mabuhay Holdings which sold post harvest equipment (including the hospital equipment which figured in the COA finding of overpricing to OsMak) Tiu is now worth over P3 billion before he turned 37.
He was a TOYM awardee,in 2011 and a Starpreneur of Go Negosyo in same year, a staunch supporter of sports.
Some of his achievement in business are:
"AgriNurture Inc. is the first agricultural company listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange and the biggest mango exporter and supplier of vegetables and fruits in the country. ANI supplies fruits and vegetables such as mango, banana, sweet pineapple and papaya to customers in Japan, Korea, China, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
Aside from distribution of fresh produce, Tiu is also behind various products and brands such as FCA (Fresh Choice Always), Superfresh, Big Chill, Cafeteria Verde, Fresh Bar by Big Chill, and C’Verde by Big Chill.
He also brought the Tully’s coffee shop brand to the country."
Kahanga hanga accomplishment ni Tony Tiu; that he would have allowed himself to be a dummy confounds me...
