A group has reportedly filed disbarment case vs Sen  De Lima for immorality and violation of Lawyers Oath and Lawyers Code of Professional Responsibility .  The group included the VACC Chairman Dante Jimenez, fmr NBI deputy directors Reynaldo Esmeralda, Ruel Lasala, and jueteng whisle blower Sandra Cam

The case was filed vs the lady Senator at the Supreme Court for alleged illicit affair with her body guard Ronnie Dayan.

Earlier, the minority at the House Committee on Justice called for filing of cases vs the same personality after the majority decided not to file cases vs her.

This happens as the Lady is filing cases vs the congressmen and the witnesses who figured on coming out with testimonies against the lady

In other countries, say Japan, the same persona could have resigned if not committed harakiri

Well, yes and no.  Children suffer the sins of parents.  Thus those whose parents idolize images may suffer later on this transgression

This was also discussed at Dating Daan.  The sins of parents are those of the parents alone

However, the children of criminals should not be looked  upon as criminals.  These were issues vs Bong2 Marcos.  Thus we have to be fair to him.

From Apologetics

The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself ” (Wells, 2003).

In a short while, I may join the group of Bro. Ely Soriano.  He said that religious group must emphasize the salvation of its followers rather than tithing and charging fees for ceremonies.

To be saved we should follow the commandments of God and Jesus Christ.  How would that happen in many religious groups where they do not prohibit body piercing tattoos, vices and other violation of the commandments.

We should shun gambling, drinking of liquor cigarettes, sinful dressing entertainment.  We are known as Christina nation.  Why do religious leaders allow these to thrive?

Solution of MM traffic woes not forthcoming yet?

It is more fun criticizing

Rizal Philippines

Image result for solving MM traffic woes

From Quora

The current administration seem to have fallen short on its first 100 days promise to solve many of the country's woes:  if I remember this includes traffic.  All ready some quarters are all ready calling for the resignation of DOT secretary.  Since December 2915 started ti get worse.   From our place to say Robinson, you need to allocate 3 hours to get to your destination.  Traffic does not move at all in floodway or Rosario.  It is sometime the sheer volume of vehicles coming from Eastern Rizal passing only to one artery:   Ortigas Avenue.   Although it has been widened, it could not keep up with the huge volume of vehicles brought about by  the huge increase in population.  Couple that with other factors:  Illegal parking, undisciplined drivers, and enforcers etc.   Uncoordianted traffic flow. etc.

The comments regarding the traffic improvements were more cogent:

Aldon AviƱanteLived in the Philippines my whole life (because I'm just 19).
I wrote a paper last year about solving the traffic problems in EDSA. You could extend the message to the whole Metro Manila, but for now I would be talking only about EDSA. I will copy the contents of my paper without edits, so please bear with me.

1. Building of an overpass or a tunnel – Will building an overpass, highway or an alternative route solve the problem? It’s a common habit for people to buy new things rather than fixing their broken objects. So if EDSA is already traffic-ridden, then officials would build an alternate highway or overpass to solve this following the given idea. This construction might already begin if plans went through. MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) Chairman Francis Tolentino proposed a project to build a 8.3 kilometer "Skybridge" along E. Rodriguez Avenue in Quezon City and would end near the former Sta. Ana Race Track. MMDA said that the P10 Billion peso project would reduce the travel time from Quezon to Makati from 1 hour to 15 minutes, and would improve the travel speed of vehicles by as much as 20-29 kilometers.

2. Carpooling - Carpooling would reduce cars in the road as people would begin filling their otherwise empty seats with people who would otherwise be driving their own cars if a carpooling program was not started. At least 323,000 vehicles pass through EDSA every day, and there is a large chance that at least half of those vehicles have only 1 passenger. If people would start carpooling, the number of vehicles could be reduced by one-fourth to one-half in theory. Reduced traffic congestion isn't the only benefit that you could get with carpooling; because of the reduction of vehicles in the road, reduction of the emissions of greenhouse gases is also a benefit, and because of the reduction of smoke in the air, it would also benefit the people's health. This system has no bad effects, and only provides good effects for the community if this was implemented in EDSA in the whole Philippines in general. This system also trains kinship amongst the community as people inside the vehicle would share the costs for filling up the vehicle and also the toll fee. With the continuing toll and gas fee hikes, carpooling might be a possible way to reduce traffic along EDSA, and possibly along the Philippines' most congested thoroughfares and highways.

3. Building of an efficient road system - Building of a much more efficient transportation system, one which has roads not leading to one major thoroughfare is greatly in need. Although benefits are still not known, and no research has ever showed that this might be a possible solution, through the use of mere logic one can assume that this might prove to be an investment for the MMDA and DPWH to utilize.

4. Reduction of bus stations and buses in EDSA - Removal of these bus stations would really benefit EDSA, as the removal of one bus contributes to the removal of two cars in the road. Although this solution looks like it would not be much of a help, recent surveys shows that commuters who ride through EDSA says that buses and their terminals needs to be reduced along EDSA, and if possible in the whole Metro Manila area.

5. Tolling of private vehicles in EDSA during rush hour - Although commuters would criticize this as a bad solution to the traffic woes as it would dwindle their money, people would find a way to avoid this tolling by bypassing it entirely using a different route. Effects of this solution are still not known, as people still doesn't find this as a possible solution, but this could reduce traffic volume in EDSA by as much as one-fourth as small public utility vehicles like jeepneys would avoid this avenue as to not reduce their already small income. Drivers with shallow pockets would also avoid this area, thus reducing the limiting the users of EDSA in rush hour to those who could afford the toll fee.

6. Strict implementation of traffic laws - MMDA's staff and officers already know the benefits of their traffic laws, people just needs to follow them and their officers should just help implement their laws rather than wait for their supervisors to watch them work. Their projected reduction of vehicles, as always being noted by the MMDA chairman past and present, was the volume of vehicles to be halved. Although I wish that the MMDA chairman would stop fantasizing about how their system is good and rather work to increase productivity among their workers and staff.

7. Reduction of establishments along EDSA - If establishments would be removed, or at least be given alternative exit rather than just straight to EDSA. Many establishments do it that way, like the Robinsons Pioneer or the Cybergate Mall near Glorietta and also the Glorietta and Greetbelt complex in Ayala. These establishments increase the traffic volume in EDSA significantly, and if these establishments or at least the small ones be removed then the whole avenue may be free from traffic woes and problems.

8. Repairing of the avenue – Maybe if  the 323,000 vehicles running through EDSA had the ability to talk, they all would scream in agony shouting that travelling in this decrepit road is as hard a task as running through a dirt road, minus the bumps, or not. The layers of paint need to be refreshed, as vehicles are having a hard time knowing which lane from which. DPWH and MMDA should lay a budget of at least a million pesos just to repaint the road, or more if they want to replace the asphalt, the cement that most of the highway has is hard to drive upon as it wears the tire much faster than an asphalt road.

9. Equal Distribution of office hours - Office hours in Metro Manila (or in the whole country) is always the same, employees may choose from either of these two: 8 am-5 pm or 9 am-6 pm. Why not change those office hours so that people would be not be populating the highway at the same time? Rush hours are time zones of the day when people come and go to office/school, and it is almost always the same time: 7 - 8 am and 5-7 pm. Offices should change their office hours, by at least one or two hours or just by making the office hours flexible. Although the volume of traffic along EDSA would not be changed, the traffic along EDSA would be equally distributed among different times of the day rather than on a time zone of one-two hours daily. DOLE would need to change their labor code for this one, but with their help they could reduce traffic in EDSA, not by volume but rather by distribution of the traffic through the day. Workers might object or accept this new solution, depending on what time of the day their work would start if this was implemented.

10.  Prohibition of PUJ's and limiting of buses in EDSA - This solution, albeit an extreme one, would dramatically reduce traffic in EDSA by as much as reducing it by three-fourths it. Think of it, an EDSA without any passenger jeepneys in sight, only privately owned vehicles and some buses in the road. It would feel like a dream highway, all 4-6 lanes of the highway to you and some vehicles, no more cumbersome jeepneys and ridiculously large and noisy buses which keep you from moving fast. It would be like the Skyway in SLEX, only on the ground and much longer, crossing 5 cities in Metro Manila. This solution would almost always be received with negative votes, mostly from the drivers and passengers of these public vehicles. This is the reason why it is placed last on the list. Transport strikes would ensue if this would be implemented, but after weeks or months have passed, the people would learn of the benefits that they will get from this. Jeepneys and buses would be diverted on other major highways traversing EDSA like Taft Avenue, Shaw Boulevard, Ayala Avenue, etc. This solution would probably defeat the purpose of solution 3 (The building of an efficient road system) as public vehicles would now be needed to take an alternative route rather than in EDSA. Private vehicles would take the full benefits from this, as they can now move much faster than they can before, about a 20+ k/hr. increase.

Pres Duterte Announces Military Economic Ties with US

For the nth time somebody is interpreting/paraphrasing the statement pf Pres DU30 made at a meeting in Beijing this week re"severing ties military and economic ties with US"  Several major dailies carried the same story, so with the videos This post was shocked and was careful enough to note what the the good President said..  This sent shock waves to the BPO industry with over 1 million employees employed and with revenues of $20 billion, almost equal to OFW remittance.

The US State department was concerned;   China Foreign Minister took the statement lightly (She knew what DU30 meant - probably joking or engaging in a balimbing talk.

He said it is not severance of ties  (but only a  separation of policy

Eh ano ba Mr President?  Sinabi mo SEVERANCE.  Make up Mr. President.  Say exactly what you mean.   Let us not confuse every one or be engaged in double talk.  It is not good for a President to engage in that kind of talk;  it weakens his leadership and stature and probably the support of 16 million voters has waned

With due respect, please say what you mean and mean what you say.  No double talk, no need for interpreters   You are our Preisdent.  We want you to succeed and lead us into your great promises.  Please do not confuse your nation

Violent dispersal ordered by MPD exec - Inquirer

Pity the poor rallyists who  were injured and/or who were forcibly dispersed by elements of MPD. They could not be faulted.  The rallyists had no permit and were seen to be using force against force  vs their statement that they would be leaving soon.

The police acted differently after CI Marcelino Pedrozo gave a pep talk to his men that they are more powerful and should not be subdued.   This could have started the melee.  Thereafter the police van dispersed the rallyists.

If you recall Pres. DU30 in his speech before several groups of policemen, that when when they are to arrest the drug suspect, they must subdue and overpower the suspect.  And force must be used (perhaps even deadly force)

The minions could have mindlessly understood this and employed the same admonition in dealing with rallyists.  Pity the poor police officers who were relieved for doing what they thought was in compliance with directives of their commander in chief and director general.   The thing here is that the leftss are on the side of DU30

We should fear the increasing power of the police vs the civilians who are very much militarized in the their mindset and operations    The senators and other govt officials keep on reminding us of this growing threat which must be checked.

As we reflect on the 2nd Super typhoon that visited us in as far as we can remember, the latest, Lawin is as devastating, powerful and destructive  It is just that we were more prepared and that the heavily affected areas were far away from ships (that caused the most death - the ships that plunged on top of houses during the surge)  But look at the twisted roofing around trees, the fallen power lines, the houses that were destroyed, kiosk that were turned upside down. all us give us the same message - The Lord is Almighty and powerful

Is perhaps not a coincidence that their international names start with Hai:   Hainan for Yolanda and Haima for Lawin.  That it was name for a very powerful bird of prey.

#shocking #breakingtieswithUS

This post has been a supporter of the DU30 govt and even an avid supporter. However, when he said without prior consultation and notice and announced that he would break military and economic ties with US  and join China and Russia this post was shocked.

At the end of the day, what did we get?  The revival of friendship between China and Phil?  $12 billion worth of trade deals (on paper).  Did we get the vaunted  Philippine sovereignty.  No that was not tackled.  At the end of the day we did not get much from China, who could be stingy with its former arch enemy.  Let us not forget the lifting of the ban on travel

On the other hand what can we expect:

1.   Possible departure of other US business from the Philippines?

2.  More foreign aid from US? Or less or Zero?

3.  Our defense lies where?  Our US hardware will fit into the Chinese aid if ever?  Why break US military ties?

4.  Less foreign trade with US.  US is one of the biggest trading partners of the PHL and is  still the biggest economy of the world. Chinas and Japans economy is dependent on US economy that is why the two deal diplomatically with US.

Did DU30 do this on his own or in consultation with other cool heads?

At the end of the day we can say that DU30 did this to spite US and UN for trying to investigate his anti drug campaign (talagang ganun, gagawin nila tungkulin nila) and for having spat with Obama (imagined  - he did not have face to face spat with Pres Obama)   DU30 has made a big blunder and mistake and his 16 manok supporter is unravelling. Thsi time former FVR could be right.

Hinay hinay Mr President.    Let us be more circumspect for the nation.   You could be wrong too

In the meantime expect more rabid rallies from the leftist groups as what has happened at US embassy recently (DU30 will have problem whom to side? -  the police who helps in the drug war, or the rallyists?) and more leftist govt policies that could hurt the business.  This may foment instability

There was a recent feature of pasaway drivers:   MC, AUV, and SUV who counterflow causing more traffic jams and accidents.   The MMDA experts say that this against the law and must be stopped .  They plan to field more traffic constable.  Enforcement is the key

Discipline is key to nation building  Just look at Singapore.  Litteirng, graffiti and chewing gum are prohibited. They have many dos and donts.  But look at their wealth and progress.  How about the Philippines.  Uunlad ba tayo?

It is my experience too that motorists do not stop at pedestrian lanes.  So pedestrians beware. Just because there is a pedestrian lane, will it mean that vehicles trucks, jeeps, MC, private vehicles will stop.  Even if there was a traffic enforcer.  You risk being run over if you cross the lane if there are plenty of vehicles coming

Beware

Since December last year and after the 100 days of Pres. Duterte was breached, traffic is still very very bad. And it is very likely that in the next two or three years, there will be no improvement.  Why?

1.  The legislature is not yet done with the hearings to give the Pres emergency powers.  We are afraid he will abuse it.

2. Too many cars and PUVs ply the street.  The car companies are raking it in -  at the rate of 300,000 units a year.  Our roads cant cope with the large volume of vehicles.

3.  Lack of traffic discipline -   drivers do not follow rules, too many powerful people violating traffic rules

4.  Too many diggings and on going construction.

5.   Untrained and corrupt police and traffic enforcers.

                                 Missing link

When I asked this question after voluminous testimonies were read and interpellated by top lawyers solons, I said, I think not.  The current SOJ shared the same opinion that if cases were filed now, the concerned personality (who is smarter and sharper than the current one) would be exonerated.  Most of the evidences are testimonial, there are no receipts of the money nor are there bank accounts that would concretely link the said person to the drugs.   Most of the testimonies have shades of grey and collide with one another (cant be beyond reasonable doubt)

The only solid evidences were that of former subordinates who have axes to grind vs the boss , and that of the accepted leader of the Lords.   He was therefore a ripe target for assassination.  Now the only solid evidence that would link the lady to the money, to the drugs and the convicts -  the driver close in security is missing (or possibly abroad or now dead).

How can you convict her?

This post would like to think that the latest witness (not from DOJ) presented today at the Congress was the most damning testimony vs former officials of govt in charge of NBP:

1.  That he gave a total of P10 million to the higher ups, some of them directly, and the others in the office of then Director Bucayu (who denied any involvement or knowledge of the trade)

2.  That he had conversation with the SOJ 7 to 8 times

3.  That he gave money through the bagman Joenel Sanchez.  Joenel Sanchez who is also a witness is the confirmed closed in security and driver of former SOJ

4.  He confirmed that the drug money gathered during the Dec 2014 could be between P200 to P300 manok since it is common for the drug lords to have P10 to P20 million in their kubol  (this was confirmed by testimony of Magleo and others?  Durano too. Some of those who participated in the  raid would seem to agree.  Who is telling the truth? If true who partook of the largesse?)

5.  That the SOJ had knowledge that the source of money given to her came from drugs.  That she is part of the drug trade can not be assumed but that she is aware that there is drug trade, and her role may be that of the protector

Rizal Philippines
October 6, 2016

Several witnesses today at Congress hearing participated in by male congressmen (misogynists) presented more damning and incriminating evidences against embattled lady govt official/solon:

PSG Joenel Sanchez -  testified on the alleged very close relationship of then former Secretary and Ronnie Dayan, their chief, close in security.  Dayan was alleged to be feeding the lady love with boiled saging na saba when they drove to Bicol.  Dayan was alleged to be sleeping together with his chief security in hotel room when they were in provincial sorties.  He denied ever receiving money from H Golanco but admitted knowing Reynante Diaz, the alleged talent Manager of H Golangco;

Inmate Arile - wrote a letter to Pres Duterte which detailed the drug trade at NBP per kg. and those outside NBP.   Quite a big business;

Inmate Durano - detailed links among Kerwin Espinosa, Jaguar, and Ronnie Dayan.  He even mentioned giving a P1.5 million to the lady when she and her security visited NBP.  She even he said did a simulated pole dance and asked Jayvee if it was OK.  Durano had a list of deposit slips where he deposited the money.

Gen.  Bucayu -  denied all the allegations that he received payola from the inmates;   initially denied persuading Gen Magalong to stop the raid;   admitted withholding information from Magalong on their own raid, on orders of Sec de Lima.  Rep Roque on cross interpellation revealed holes in the formers testimony and warned him of greater penalties if he commits perjury in Congress.

So are they all #misogynist, making life difficult and harassing the lone lady solon.

We see images of a political fighter seemingly cornered being hysterical though still standing tall but asking the opponent to stop and have her jailed.

There is nobody like her:   a tactician, an academician,  very courageous, like a lioness, very bright and intelligent having made her mistake in the realm of power and politics. She played right into the hand of her opponent and the end game is perhaps she will be unseated in her present position, disgraced and shamed

She should have stopped earlier, licked her wounds and retreated.

On one hand, she presented her case to investigate the killings and the war vs drug.  But she lost her bearing and strayed elsewhere to destroy the seat of power.  It turned out her witness was not very credible:  plenty of inconsistency, uncorroborated statement, and worst of all.  It cost her committee chairmanship.  This coupled with her series of walking out, lessened her stature and her followers/admirer.

What is worse is the battle at the other house where interlligent and coherent and cogent witnesses piled up testimonial evidence against her.   Her former closed in security driver, videos, Generals, subordinates and so far, these can only be denied and no counter evidence has been denied.  And where is the missing P300 million.  Those who testified against her today were even more damning and damaging to her person.

As she said to Pres Duterte, the EJK was not caused by her but brought forth by his administration, as the testimony vs her was not created by the witnesses but emanated from her actions.

It was not a very good sight to see her speak on the dignity and rights of person and women yesterday at a CHR forum  With rights come great responsibility to be a great person also.  And to come forth with clean hands
