What has resulted from the CJ impeachment?

Social and political criticisms

After the CJ impeachment, this nation looks for reforms in the judiciary.  What is forthcoming?

Will the justices stop stashing bribes from the litigants?

Will they stop owning condos, gifts from litigants?

Will they just submit SALN just like anybody else?

Is it just RC?  What about other CJ with regards to their SALN,?  Are they lily white or they will just go scott free?

Will the slow wheels of justice finally get moving? Will the judges start their trials on time? Or on ten?

Will they continue to have power and might over properties and lives and future of people.

I know of judges who talk like they are on the same plane as God.  Really....

If none is forthcoming, even from the integrity of judges and justices, then it was all a useless exercise.

What happenned to the news that some churchmen received Montero bribes from gambling Lords?

Social and political criticisms

What happenned to the allegations that certain bishops received SUV from a govt gambling corporation?

Were the investigating solons struck awed by the churchmen?

I thought the churchmen are holier than the solons?  Or the other way around.

Therefore, if the church is corrupt, what do we expect from them?  Aren't they the conscience of society?

Same question asked in Fili and Noli... and this still persists.

Why do they have to associate with the high and mighty?  Does that make the churchmen good or can they continue being good?

What are the allegations that bishops, just like stars and solons demand appearance fees?  This could not be true.

What is going to happen to the RH bill?

Social and political criticisms

Will the Congress be able to pass the RH bill into law? Will PNOY be able to sign this into a law.  Please take note that PHL is the only Catholic nation in Asia and the church leadership has drawn the support of its pastoral councils (its  brethren) that there is going to be war.

I think this must not be a non issue now.  People realize that marriage and bearing children has become an economic burden, many are not marrying or are marrying at much later stages.  Yes this may be true in urban area.  But in rural areas, in agricultural areas, having more children is very functional;  the many children will be the farm hands;  they can not afford to pay the labor under a subsistence farming method.

And take note, that PHL high population growth is saving the day for our country.  The labor force PHL supplied to the world brought in nearly l0% contribution to  the GDP ($20 billlion) almost a trillion pesos.  That must have fueled a lot of consumer spending and even some investments.  Without that labor force abroad (that resulted from a rapid population growth)

And besides Japan and Korea which has a greying population needs a lot of workers?

Who else but PHL can provide that labor requirement.  And maybe they are praying too that the RH bill will not get passed.  It is going to be bad for their economic future.

What do you think?

What have the politicians really done to fight poverty?

Social and political criticisms

My brother who ran for mayor made his slogan on the idea that he can fight poverty (just like PNOY and Erap).  He must have made a big mistake.  You can can not run a government, even an LGU on the basis of socialism or dole outs.  Somebody has to pay the bill.  There must be revenues and taxes.

Even Pacman who has billions.  Can he keep on giving away his hard earned dollars from boxing (they are hard earned and painful too;  they hurt.)

It is an old issue on business policy that it is better to teach man how to fish rather than giving him fish to live just for the day.  And lately the social entreps are shouting, revolutionalize  the fishing industry.

Isnt be better to be pro prosperity or progress rather than to be socialistic?

What do you think?

Is red tape and corruption solely in public sector

Social and political criticisms

I think that the public sector, the government, is unjustly being branded as center of corruption, ineptness, inefficiency, red tape and corruption.

Not so.  Even in private sector, inefficiency red tape, ineptness, and wrongdoings abound.  Hence there are many cases of business closure and  scandals.

It has something to do with the leadership and management and the integrity of its officers.  If the leadership lacks the integrity and the forcefulness to see to it that the correct values and culture in the organization thrive, then all the bad things, whether it be in the government or private sector is bound to happen.

Let us end the stereotype and the generalization about the government.  There are centers of excellence too in the public sector.

Why does the church have to accumulate so much wealth and power?

Social and political criticisms

The bible contains 30% verses on money and or business.  Yes that may be the reason why it has to earn things of this earth to spread the word of God. Or that it is necessary for it not to keep on asking money from everyone.

But we are all aware that the apostles were instructed to spread the word bringing nothing with them.  Or that is why celibacy is a must.  So that the ministers of the word are not tied up with worldly things.  And yet we see the church losing its investments (that was also mentioned in the scriptures)

And maybe the  church loses its focus on its mission and gets entangled in politics?

Why?
