MEET THE PRESS Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno reminds the people during a “Meet the Press” event in Intramuros, Manila, that the courts provide justice to victims based on enough evidence of guilt. GRIG C. MONTEGRANDE

From Inquirer

SC Chief conducted a press conference yesterday saying that the courts are out to stop slide country into anarchy.  She is alarmed at the 1700 number of deaths that are drug related  perpetrated by the police and the vigilante.

Some reasons cited over the slow grind of justice are:    weak evidence by police, lack of personnel and courts to handle the ever growing number of cases especially from drug problems.

Sereno cited the independence of the judiciary and mentioned the courtesy call made by some justices to the President

Ladies seem to be nemesis for Duterte:  Sereno and de Lima.
