Davao City Mayor Digong Duterte emerged as the overall winner of the final Presidentail debate held in Dagupan City yesterday with him garnering 65.74% of the votes, followed by Administration candidate Mar Roxas with 18.03%, Senator Myriam Defensor Santiago was third with 11.83, Grace Poe - 3.72 % and VP Binay last - 0.67%
The third debate was held in University of Pangasinan Phinma and co organized by the KBP, ABS CBN, Comelec and Manila Bulletin.
Duterte also topped the two other 2 Presidential Debate s held in Cagayan de Oro and Cebu.
Many netizens who voted perhaps liked the practical and down to earth, common sense approach of Duterte. Myriam was more academic and as if speaking from a pulpit and theoretical in her answers. Grace Poe was seen by this post as sweet talking and evasive at times regarding her personal circumstances. Her envisioned welfare programs could make PHL end up like Brazil Well Mar Roxas is seen more as technocrat rather than as a soon to be father of the Philippines.
In our province, many citizens are printing T shirts and tarpaulin for Duterte. Many people in poor neighborhood, in many conversations about their candidates tell me that they are for Duterte. One employee we interviewed said he and his co employees are for Duterte. He works for the largest DU
The commentators though of the debate were not for Duterte. Some observers note that the organizers seemed to have bias for Poe and Roxas and vs Duterte. (Or that the questions could have been leaked to Roxas hence his answers)
