From Vox - authoritarianism on the rise in US
There was a broadcast a few minutes ago at GPS in CNN about a scholar (Weller(who talked on parenting. They made a survey on parenting and found out that there is on the rise due to strict parenting by some for strict implementation on law and order. Thus for this group, Trump who would like to see order on immigration, trade, foreign relations would be most popular. Liberals or politician be out of favor with this group
Thus Trump from out of nowhere is winning votes all across segments of USA. He seems to be getting much support for banning Muslims in US, banning gays,
It this the same for the Philippines? If this were the case, then Duterte would be their guy. This group would like to see leaders who would have simple solutions for complex situations.
What are their traits? "Strong, simple, forceful and punitive"
We all want the big brother or the brother who will be our defender from harm.
The need for authoritarianism when the citizens are threatened especially by terrorism, invasion of the country by migrants, threatening their livelihood, benefits and existence. Thus, the Americans feel threatened by mosques being built in their communities They would admire Putin who says that Russia can not provide Muslims with mosques or Shariah justices. So they must go back to their own country where such are available. Or Xi Jin PIng who wants to uphold Chinese supremacy.
Hitler became the head of Fascist Germany who led the Germans on the belief of the supremacy of the Aryan race.
If this were the case, then both Trump and Duterte may win.
Would this phenomenon accompany the rise of fascism?
