Form IB times - Philhealth in danger of Financial Collapse

There are news that Philhealth can support its mandate in 6 to 10 months only. It paid a total of P10 billion last year to pay for the premiums of the members under Pantawid Pamilya program and senior citizens according to VP Emilio Dorotan.

Last year it had collection of only P980 million and claims amounting to P3.5 billion, clearly a deficit, according to VP Manolo Inigo.    Albay Gov. Joey Salceda that it should have, under ;the law, P5 billion in cash and P120 billion in reserves.

Philhealth leadership denies the allegation   Philhealth Chief Alex Padilla claims Philhealth finances robust, VPs misquoted.  He advised members not to panic.
