Toxic Press and Media - are they power brokers?

It is more fun criticizing

This post is wondering how come the President is taking personal if not official grudge in the likes of ABS CBN, Rappler and PDI?

Well in the case of Rappler Ranada  vs Roque and  PDDU, this post was wondering why the govt men were so pissed off to go down to the reporter level and argue and discourteously had arguments with the highest official of the land.  No wonder she was banned from Malacanang.  No wonder serious violations vs govt regulations ie that no foreigners shall own media companies were levelled vs the medica company.   In a video of  Rappler newshen  trying to interview Sen Imee it was sad to see the interviewer ignored

This post witnessed interviews in big media where guests were grilled and argued with rather than interviewed.  Some anchors have preconceived ideas on the interview which they try to impose on the the interviewee.  Of late this post witnessed the interview of Future Sec of Justice Remulla where in the words of Future Sec of Justice was prosecuted

Being a journalist (print of broadcast) does not give one a license to harass, embarrass, nor ridicule the subject.    The abuse does not come from govt politician.  It comes too from the fith column -  the press and media.   However they are less powerful now with soc media.   Many times they are scooped by netizens

Many are in the habit of editorializing their coverage, their write ups and questioning.   And yet they claim they are not engaged or criticize the fake news.  Editorializing is fake news reporting.   They are in the habit of of making fallacious conclusions like saying that the stock market fell because fo the results of election.   Many including the journalists, purveyors of truth, do not get systems principle.   Events that follow one another does not mean that the preceding event is the cause.   Or the systems principle ie that many factors lead to certain results in the system.   Not only election results.    So be careful with your conclusions or editorials

There ought to be code of conduct and ethics for such journalists.  One of the golden rule for journalists is  as seen in Tuesday with Morrie enjoined to listen.

However lately the posts on inauguration of BBM were neutral and non toxic.    How we wish the media would be friendlier and less anti thesis of current govt (less Hegelian)

How can we survive in toxic negative environment if it is endless tirade of wrongs and shortcomings.   We will never achieve anything at all

It is the reality that we can not escape the reality of power and authority.  You cant fight city hall.  We are fortunate that press in the country is free unlike in Mindanao where journalists were buried alive by
a warlord.  (cf Ampatuans)
