Elsewhere responsibility and even in this article on the shoulders of bank officials for making the wroong callls ie investing short term deposits in long term bonds  But who wants the company you are leading to fail to leave a bad legacy?  Or have enemies for making depositors lose their money?  None I guess

But SVB was in a tight squeeze, it could not have decided otherwise:

1.  It could not make loans to start ups who were awash with cash;

2.  It had no choice except to go long term to get higher returns to cover their costs and high liquidity level

The rest of responsibility lay outside  (Fed)

1   For loosening reins on money supply since debacle of 2008;

2.  For increasing interest rate lately to rein in money supply and inflation..  

SVB just could not take the strain from loose money to tight money supply high interest rate environmnet

Even investment in equitiies was a a nono  The stock prices were crashing.  

We just hope that even with CSB difficulties, the contagion does not spread to Europe and/or Asia

19,000 to lose jobs in Boracay due to closure order CNN



Boracay beginning April 26 2018 and  for a period of six months will be closed to tourists for 6 months.   The reason for this is obvious:  to clean up Boracay and install much needed sewage treatment facilities.  All ready, establishments have laid off workers ahead of the closure order.

The President called the place a cesspool (due to untreated sewage flowing to the sea)

No one will weep for Boracay and tourists will not miss Boracay;  there are other white sand beaches in the country:  Bohol and Marinduque, to mention a few.

A solon was right in saying that we need to rehab Boracay but its closure is un necessary.  The loss of jobs will displace many people dependent on Boracay:  vans, airlines, travel agents, hotel workers, etc. Not to mention loss of revenue to Boracay and boat operators.

How will these displaced workers get their living:   go home and plant camote?  Ano plano ng mga nagpasara  ng Boracay. Walang solution after next?  Shoot and then think later. Plan later?  How sad for a mayor turned President.   Running the country like a minion, a city only.


Govt may lose P20 billion in gross revenues due to 6 months Boracay closure -  daig pa losses sa Marawi siege.   Daig pa giniyera dahil sa di naisip na mabuting desisyon. Puwede namang maitayo mga facilities (na hindi ginawa noong nakaraang admin) na hindi totally isasara Boracay.   That is not the only alterantive.  Imagine Boracay being a ghost town, and  19,000 workers suddenly becoming beggars.

In our business mission, we emphasize that we need to grow our business to give jobs and employment. What is the mission of govt wise guys?

SEC closure order, a move towards dictatorship?  (Ano pa nga ba?   Ano ba iyong Rev Gov being promoted by a former colleague?

NUJP outraged over SEC closure order vs. Rappler  (That is all we can do, be outraged;  hindi ninyo kayang pigilan or stand in his way)



The Security and Exchange Commission has ordered the cancellation of Rappler a media news company (is it or blogger) for allegedly circumventing the rules on foreign ownership by issuing PDR to ON.  Many media practictioners (NUJP) are up in arms against the ruling as pure harrassment

Yes it seems the company was singled out.  It is a common knowledge that a good number of businesses are owned by foreigners through dummies (nominees) trustees, wives, mistresses. But SEC never looked into that (or the other way)  Well o yes it is a media company.

So bloggers, soc media practitioners you could be now a media company.

All ready media companies critical of the administration are suffering:    Inquirer (their site cant be accessed) may be ABS CBN (hindi kita malilimutan Gabby Lopez)

Baka someday mapag initan din ang site na ito.  Maski nangampanya ako sa  Pangulo (now I regret it.  Marami nang maling gawa.)
