This post sees continued publication by Rappler despite closure order from SEC.   For all intents and purposes, they are no longer a legal entity and has ceased the power to do business in the Philippines.

It is not about repression of press freedom as those whose legal entity are ok,   There is no apparent veto nor censorship of news.  But its head continues to make such representation so that even former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has dipped her  hands into a controversy she does not fully understand because of misrepresentation 

The latest SEC decision said “the Commission finds that the Donation did not cure the violation by Rappler, Inc. and Rappler Holdings Corporation of Article XVI Section 11(1) of the Constitution and PD (Presidential Decree) No. 1018, and hereby AFFIRMS the administrative penalties imposed in the Decision dated 11 January 2018 declaring VOID the ON PDRs pursuant to Section 71.2 of the Securities Regulation Code and REVOKING the Certificates of Incorporation of Petitioners Rappler, Inc. and Rappler Holdings Corporation.”

The said entity was found to have violated the constitutional mandate that media organization  has to be owned 100% by Filipinos.  The said entity was found to have issued PDR for a foreign investment firm

clearly a violation of the constitutional provision.   An initial order was issued in 2018 and the recent order merely affirmed the initial order.   Media organization are supposed to be watchdog for compliance with laws.  An here it is

Its not about being a Nobel prize winner   The continued fake news make one wonder if at all Nobel Peace Prize is indeed a prestigious award.   

One wonders why such entities who make the country look bad continue to exist or insist to be in existence despite facts on the contrary.

With the PDP laban endorsement  under Resolution No. 26  endorsement and that of the a former soldiers group, this observer predicts that BBM SD tandem is most likely to win the 2022 election:    (the endorsement is tapos na boxing for Sen Pacquiao)

The VP candidates in their debate agreed that the runaway winner will be this tandem.  And it is better for them to unite, so that the  vote of  opponents would be consolidated for Leni Kiko

1.  Very high  name recall -   It is an advantage  whether it is good or bad experience for  some people that Marcos name has a very high name recall, and so with Duterte (due to 6 years of Pres Dutertes reign . DU30 is very easy to remember What about other names?   For the second best candidate.?   Ever wondered why Sarah did not use her married surname -  Carpio.   Recall would be poor.  

2.  Wide representation to CDE population.     The second best candidate would appeal to ABC population which compromise only 30% of the  total population.  This post believes that the tandem is popular, dear to the  CDE voters who comprise 70% of the total voting population

3.  Geographical appeal.   SD appeals to Visayas and Mindanao, BBM maybe has 50%- 50% chance of taking Luzon votes.  But if indeed SD supports BBM, BBM would gain majority in Visayas and Mindanao

4   Silence during debate.    Some would say that non attendance of the debates is a sign of cowardice.  But I have seen many candidates lose their votes in open forum and debates.  Silence is golden.

5.   Logistics    BBM and DU30 are very likely to have huge resources - financial, connection, volunteers, old ties of her mother, GI connection

6.  Nega attacks made BBM more popular.and increased  name recall.   The DQ case at Comelec and further attacks and energy wasted by the political opponents increased the media mileage of the Red and Green tandem.  The underdog image is working for BBM

7.  Clear and focused campaign.    The tandem focused on few items that are dear to people's heart  Like the  magaling and paggaling  (building more centers -  heart kidney etc maybe in reference to the 

projects of her mother FL  Other campaigns are fuzzy and  vague

8.  More balanced and resource filled senatorial line up.   

That the tandem promise to continue the program of DU30 would likely win the endorsement of the 

incumbent President and increase the likelihood of their winning

The post may err but many things point to the possible win of the Red and Green tandem.    For others it would be waste of money and time.

SEC closure order, a move towards dictatorship?  (Ano pa nga ba?   Ano ba iyong Rev Gov being promoted by a former colleague?

NUJP outraged over SEC closure order vs. Rappler  (That is all we can do, be outraged;  hindi ninyo kayang pigilan or stand in his way)



The Security and Exchange Commission has ordered the cancellation of Rappler a media news company (is it or blogger) for allegedly circumventing the rules on foreign ownership by issuing PDR to ON.  Many media practictioners (NUJP) are up in arms against the ruling as pure harrassment

Yes it seems the company was singled out.  It is a common knowledge that a good number of businesses are owned by foreigners through dummies (nominees) trustees, wives, mistresses. But SEC never looked into that (or the other way)  Well o yes it is a media company.

So bloggers, soc media practitioners you could be now a media company.

All ready media companies critical of the administration are suffering:    Inquirer (their site cant be accessed) may be ABS CBN (hindi kita malilimutan Gabby Lopez)

Baka someday mapag initan din ang site na ito.  Maski nangampanya ako sa  Pangulo (now I regret it.  Marami nang maling gawa.)
