Pres Pnoy's Govt has strong and great economic results but lags behind in job generation
Social and political criticisms
Many commentaries in Pres Pnoy's SONA has high marks for for the President on economic performance and governance but lags behind in job generation. Many Pilipinos are still unemployed (about 3 million) and a lot more are under employed. I saw an interview with Sec Almendras (at DTI) where the investment and job generation issue was tackled.
From where I come from this is the way I look at the problem:
l. Entrepreneurial mindset must be promoted (Go Negosyo Go go go); politics of patronage must be minimized; less politics, more business.
2. Political dynasty = business dynasty. Families dominate both business and politics. Politics give these families more monopolistic stronghold in regions and provinces.
3. Difficult regulators (need I say more)
4. Corruption at Revenue offices: at LGUs and central govt: BIR and BOC. Many online businesses died because of BOC
5. More emphasis on welfare programs rather than entrepreneurship
So what are we complaining about lack of jobs?

From PDI - How the 10Billion racket works? July 14, 2013
The whisteblower of this scam is allegedly facing arrest. But the company lead by Janet Lim- Napoles has allegedly withdrawn billions of money form CDF of solons and funnelled them to NGO with fake beneficiaries or ghost deliveries.
These people are giving bad names to non profit and charities. It is so sad that the taxpayers work so hard to pay the taxes that fund these rackets. Find out the modus operandi of this scam

A lot of forum and debate has come up in the light of the proposed demolition of houses on river banks and waterways. They clog up the waterways with their wastes and cause the frequent flooding; the multibillion flood control structures have been rendered useless by the waste they throw into the waterways.
Now on the issue of relocation: the govt has to shoulder the cost of relocation as provided for by in the Lina law. Could preventive measures be taken to prevent them from occupying the river banks in the first place.
I heard that inviting squatters: increase IRA allocation and pad the votes of the candidates.
So being elected is a priority over good governance and being populist is a preferred strategy.
So we have to suffer the floods; because of this misguided (?) priorities?

I was surprised that when I accepted trippings for property for sale, the two groups had the Municipal Assessor's office as part of the selling team.
And then lately, I got a facebook post inquiring about my lots for sale; the area and block lot number were clearly stated! Are they acting appropiately or within the bounds of their code of conduct? Or out of bounds or they could not care less?

New color coding will not ease traffic; will increase number of cars and congestion

I was talking to former DE at DPWH and she was all praises to Sec. Singson of DPWH for being a real mission oriented cabinet official and she has he concern over the proposed MMDA vehicle color coding scheme. (limited to EDSA only?) Here are her concerns:
l. Those cars who have 3 same numbers will be exempted (and there would be about 5% in the said situation
2. Those who have livelihood using vehicles will surely be having reduced income and that is bad;
3. This will result in the rich buying more cars (for the extra day they will be out of the street and request for a number not falling on their 2nd color coding); there will be more cars instead of having less. On a day that they are not covered, there will be 3 more vehicles in the street.
Can they not think of something else?
The skyway or widening the streets will be more welcome solution?
