It was alleged in this video that a European powerhouse, a top 20 nation in total GDP had $3 trillion heist on the Philippines about 70,000 tons of gold. This was based on records dug by a Philippine historian, Ambeth Ocampo. Like the rest of its conquest Spain found out that Philippines had plenty of gold mines the most famous of which were in Surigao, Benguet, Camarines (the Paracale) and numbering about 200 +. Spain had forced mining activity that brought the gold to Spain using the galleon trade from Manila to Acapulco, and from thereon to Spain. There are hints that Spain should repay, render reparation to the Philippines. $3 trillion isi about PHP 180 trillion and would do much erase the Php 17 trillion current debt.
Had there be no such heist, the Philippine infrasturcture, health care and education would have been one of the best in the world, and truly Philippines would be the Pearl of the Orient Seas.
