Sen Bongbong Marcos could end up as country;s next Vice President

It is more fun criticizing

'WE'RE ELECTED.' Senator Bongbong Marcos says his family's electoral victory is a sign that Filipinos have moved on from martial law. File photo from Marcos' Facebook page

Rappler - The Leader I want

My fearless prediction is Sen. Bongbong Marcos could be the next VP of the country.  His political allies would make that possible.  Except for the Bicol Region,  Sen Marcos could get the  vote rich  provinces of Region I with his MasigaBONG, pasaluBONG campaign, the Eastern Visayas vote, the bailiwick of his mother.;   his running mate Presidential Candidate Sen. Santiago would support him at Western Visayas,  The youthful voters who support Sen Santiago would put in votes, demographic wise in the entire country.  If my informants are right, a candidate from Mindanao, would support the good Senator in Mindanao, provided he gets the support of the former in Northern Luzon. Makes strategic sense, doesnt it.

NCR and Region IV, Region 3 would just be the battle ground to fight for Sen. Marcos.

So despite the strong objection of the alleged victims of the father strongman, Sen Marcos might make it   Sen Marcos has matured enough, gained savvy and maturity and showed his brilliance on his stand on many occasions like SC Justice Corona;s impeachment, showed his balls on BBL.

He showed his courage when frontally attacked on the alleged wrong doing of his late father.

So the man to watch for next VP of the RP -  Sen Bongbong Marcos

Sen Santiago attacks Sen Enrile personally; calls him various names; a counter attack to JPE

It is more fun criticizing

Rizal  Philippines  |  December 4, 2013

From Rappler by Ayee Macaraig | December 4, 2013

Sen Myriam Defensor Santiago, who was accompanied by sister, and husband delivered a privileged speech at the Senate today and mentioned the following (aside from being a liar and being guilty of 7 crimes)
1. architect of martial law (true)

2.  mastermind of PDAF;

3.  behind gambling and smuggling at Port Irene in Cagayan (hmmm friends and students hinted this to be correct)

4.  womanizer  (of his chief of staff) had special relations with another top level personality, and even had relations with the domestic help;

What do you think of this speech?

What do you think of Sen Enrile?

Of Sen Santiago?

Of our public sector leaders?

Maybe Sen Santiago counter attacked Sen Enrile on account of this portion of the privilege speech of JPE last 11/27/2013 for which Sen Myriam is particularly sensitive about:

"During the hearing of the Commission on Appointments on her confirmation as Secretary of Agrarian Reform, testing the suitability and qualifications of the nominee then, I asked her if she was ever under the care of a psychiatrist. She admitted that she was. She said that she was treated by a psychiatrist at the Makati Medical Center.
In the same Commission on Appointments committee deliberation, I asked her also what grade she got in her bar examination. She replied that she got 76%. That meant that she obtained low grades in all her bar subjects. In fact, I remember that she got a grade of 56% in Ethics, the easiest bar examination subject.

In that same Commission on Appointments committee deliberation, I asked about a white Toyota Celica sports car that the nominee then was said to be driving as her personal car when she was a judge in Quezon City. Toots Trinidad, a former PNB Vice President, owned that sports car. He shipped it back to the Philippines upon his return from the United States after his surgical operation for a brain tumor at the Standford University. That sports car disappeared from the compound of the Bureau of Customs when it arrived in the Port of Manila.

Toots Trinidad learned that his sports car was with a judge of Quezon City. Toots Trinidad asked then Judge Miriam Defensor Santiago to give the car back to him. She refused. I was told that she claimed that her husband, Narciso Yap Santiago of the Province of Tarlac, who was at that time employed in the Bureau of Customs, gave her that sports car as a birthday gift. Later on, I found out that the car was registered in her name in the Bureau of Land Transportation in the Province of Tarlac.
As a consequence of my opposition, and among other concerns taken into consideration, the Committee on Agrarian Reform of the Commission on Appointments voted to reject her appointment as Secretary of Agrarian Reform."

The presentation of facts at the Napoles Hearing in Senate have loose ends and must have given the defense time to prepare

Social and political criticisms

Napoles at the Senate hearing wearing bulletproof vest

Repost from Rappler

The hearing at the Senate proceeded despite the request of JLN to postpone her appearance at the Senate because her defense counsel Atty Lorna Kapunan resigned  (Is it because one of the alleged recipient of the PDAF commission was surnamed Kapunan too)

Many of the "facts" mentioned by Ben Hur Luy and other whistle blowers yesterday, November 8, 2013,  were loose and could not specifically pin down link the solons he/they mentioned to the receipt of the money/commission.   The mentioning of the names without solid evidence (all they have are testimonials) like documents available :  cash or check vouchers, memos, agreements, written orders.  It could even  be held defamatory.

Only Jane Napoles, holds the key to linking the alleged recipients, the solons to the crime.  Without her confirmation, nothing will prosper.  Without her turning witness, her joining forces with the whistle blowers, we could only dismiss this as another "palabas"  distraction.  As of now, only the NGO and Napoles will hold the brunt of the case.  The alleged commissioners will go scot free.  But then again, we need the truckload of evidence. To prove who indeed was lying.  Where are they?

Perhaps Sen Santiago is aware of the exact nature of the case that is why she was very kind to JLN  and profuse in her kindness and love for the latter to turn state witness

The hearing yesterday was spectacular  " She is lying your honor"  So it is just one testimony against another.  We need physical evidence.  That would be more fun.  More fun, fund, indeed in the Philippines.

Sen Santiago steals show at Napoles hearing

Congresswoman sees nothing wrong with political dynasties

Social and political criticisms

From Philstar

In a speech during Cooperative Month celebration in Iloilo, a congresswoman, wife of a Senator sees nothing wrong with political dynasties.  It would seem normal for a professional as it is normal in other profession as being a lawyer, doctor etc.

The l987 constitution prohibits political dynasties:   Article 2, Section 26.  Earlier Sen Myriam Santiago and Rep. Casino bills to implement such anti dynasty prohibition of the constitution.

What do you think of the comment of the good congresswoman?

Is political dynasty good or bad for the country?

The Ways of the Rules ofl Court at the CJ Impeachment Trial

Si Filosofo Tasyo ay patuloy sa pagpilosopo

The current impeachment trial of CJ Corona is a display of how byzantine the rules of court, and court proceedings are.  However looking closely, the rules of court follows strict logic, cause and effect, clear logic, and relevance.

This is the same stuff taught in case method and case analysis.

Relevance:   In the issue of the probity of the CJ why was the evidence on the perks at PAL disregarded?

Clarity of thinking   Why was the issue of ill gotten thrown off in the presentation of SALN?

How has the defense exploited these flaws and weaknesses of the prosecution?  What is the lesson for the prosecution?  How will they pick up the pieces?

The Presiding Judge did not consider the junking of the complaint and instead having a pre trial on the theory that the impeachment charge was hastily done and not read by the congressmen who signed the complaint.  As it it is, this is the case.  How many times was Cong Tupas challenged to change the complaint to include the evidence being presented?

As for the FCD, the senators can not risk violating the law.  It is guaranteed by the law that no such inquiry is to be made.

Now it is coming out that the bank deposit accounts copies were illegally obtained (through AMLA) and that there discrepancies (and therefore there are doubts cast on the evidences (which by far are the most damaging).  Do not be shocked if the deposit accounts at PSB are to be considered illegally obtained and are thus to be disregarded.

As for Sen Santiago, she really has one of the brilliant minds there is among the judges.  Do not mistake her tirades for anything else.  She knows her laws very well, and the young prosecutors dont.

As for the commentators in the TV shows, the lawyers there who make their commentaries for and against either side does not help one peel the truth.

On the influencing of the decision of SC, it is correct to say that the Sec of Justice testimony are mere hearsays and do not have any consequence to the complaint.

As it is, is the prosecution or the defense that has the upper hand?

That is why it is correct to say that the one who wins has the best lawyer.  As it is my admiration goes to the defense.
