Injuries and death from motorcycles a growing concern?

There has been a rash a motorcycle accidents in the town where I am.  I searched the google, and the  public sector research bears this out:  10% of musculo skeletal injuries are Motorcycle related.

The victims are usually male 25 to 35 years old, and accidents occur in the evening. The article attributes the growing  trend to ease of ownership of the motorbikes. The article notes that there is 16.3% increase in MC related accidents.

Perhaps nothing is being done here because it helps control population growth?  Just joking.  In case the RH bill is not passed.

In general, much reform has to be made with regards to the sudden and explosive proliferation of motorbikes.  There is dearth of driver training, safety and enforcement.  Hence the alarming rate of increase of accidents and fatality from motorcyling.  I hope the motorbikers can police their ranks and even institute safety training.

One of the things that I mind is the installation of aftermarket exhaust pipes for motorbikes.  Well I understand, that such an exhaust system adds additional power and speed to the the stock motorbikes.  It also prevents drowning of the motor in case the motorbike traverse flooded streets:  the exhaust is angled skyward.

You will note that such a design blows hot exhaust gases into the faces of unwary pedestrians or if you are another biker.   

Is this aspect being looked into by policy maker from the enforcer/public sector?
