Musk and Trump feud, how will it affect Trump governance and USA

It is more fun criticizing

This post certainly it would not affect USA (and the rest of the world) but with threats that are not empty, Musk would certainly lose.   All ready TESLA stock prices have plunged by billions, with Trump promising cutting off contracts and subsidies.

We pray this all ends - well.

Balancing interests of producers and consumers

It is more fun criticizing

This is a delicate balance that must be maintained by regulators.  -  to favor producers or consumers.    The answer would be ideal -  both

Producers want higher price for their produce say rice.   Say farmgate price for palay of P20.00 BBM wants at P20.00 price ceiling for rice.  Impossiblel.  It takes 2x as much palay to produce rice.   Without additional production cost, that translates into P40.00 selling price.

Fare increase being reined by LTFRB

It is more fun criticizing

Various sides have been heard regarding fare increases.   NEDA is against is as this will trigger a new round of inflation.  Fare increase triggers wage increase and price of goods  (As of now those affected by trucking fare increase have unilaterally increased their prices)

This noon some discussion were seen at CNN by a jeepney drivers association

     1.  That the P6,500 is not enough and will just be returned to the oil companies
     2.  Oil companies (an old leftist line) are gouging our people  (But oil price increase come from the
oil traders and producers like OPEC)

    3.  That the take home income of drivers have been reduced (Because they included food expenses of the drivers (maybe with barkada.  What should prevent them from including their alak expenses later on
May be a computation a simulation of how many paying passengers on the average, the fuel consumption must be detailed.

   4.  That the  sad state of the revenue vs expenses will force many drivers to shift to other jobs and force them to stop

It is noteworthy that only jeep drivers would be the only ones affected (the more vocal) groups but not buses or vans, or TVNs

One wonders if the statement of the official of the jeepney drivers group is to be believed

So various options:

   1.  P1.00 fare increase
   2.  P5.00 fare increase
   3.  P6,500 assistance to the jeepney drivers

Train law will not affect prices?

It is more fun criticizing

What does train law meanto ordinary Filipinos?

Benefits under the TRAIN law - from Rappler (fair ba reporting?)

The authors of the Train Law (the law that increased income tax exemption for workers - a very political move to be popular with voters who are wage earners) promised and stated that they will not affect prices if all minimal. But with gas prices shooting up from P18.00 per  liter to as high as P62.00 for gasoline and P50.00 it is very invevitable that prices will go up.  Equipment renters, truckers are now charging higher for the freight.  Some transport groups have motu propio on their own increased their fares. In the island province that I visited yesterday, the VAN fare shot up by P40.00 and there were not lots of  van going around (maraming LTFRB) patrols and fines for colorum is impounding + P200,000 fine.  Mahirap ding sumakay

I would like to think that taxes and economy is a zero sum game. Nothing is free. Nothing comes from nothing.  Everything must come home to roost, just like a chicken.

It you grant tax exemption, the law taketh away from the people too by way of increase prices of goods (brought about by rising fuel prices and trasnsport/commuting)   In the end the people, the proposed  beneficiary of the TRAIN law, got nothing, got the short end of the promise.

How come.?   Baka dapat amendahan o baguhin ang TRAIN law?   Minadali, kulang pag iiisip, research, debate?

Why are oil prices dropping like rock? Why will prices continue to plummet

Image result for Opec failed to agree on cutting oil production

Oil prices in free fall after OPEC agree on production cut - Fortune

Why are activists not rising in arms vs govt. now that oil prices are dropping like rock.  Diesel price, the fuel for many is down to as low as P23.50 per liter. down from a high of P50+ about a year ago. Good for our economy - drivers, transpo, travel, and factories, power producers.

For unknown reason there are no protests from the activiists (the antis - Hegelian animals) vs the govt.  Well, the govt has nothing to do with price under the free market conditions.  If the govt had subsidy for the fuel and the prices dropped this low, the govt could have lost billions!  As if people do not understand the free market.. Now we are benefiting from the free world market bonanza.

Why are the prices falling down?  Because of low demand - Europe economy is not ticking as it should, the countries have developed their renewables, and US production from shale and fracking has gone up.

And lately, OPEC in its latest meeting failed to agree on cutting down their production  The head of OPEC  is not cutting down its daily production of 30 million barrels  a day  (Production must be cut down to raise prices)  But perhaps, KSA can not sustain its govt budget with $40.00 per barrel.  Note that Argentina, and Russia which are also starved for cash, are not part of OPEC. Thus with OPEC in disarray, prices are most likely to fall below $40.00 even further.  The move is to force US shale producers to lose money and cut back on their production
