Epic failure of host Steve Harvey at Miss Universe winner announcement
I thought that such failure can only occur in the Philippines (as was during the announcement of the Manila Film Festival winner during the time of Mayor Alfredo Lim which involved a beauty queen?)
It did happen though in Las Vegas during the announcement of Ms.Universe. During the tense moment as to who was the winner, with Ms. Philippines and Ms. Colombia face to face, Steve Harvey announced it was Ms. Colombia. Three minutes later he announced that he made a mistake and he apologized, saying that Ms. Colombia is the first runner up. And that Pia Wurtzerbach is the Ms. Univrse.
Critics have toasted Steve Harvey for the epic fail, and even included Donald Trump in the tirade.(However it was announced by Steve that Donald Trump has sold the franchise. The mistake was a great news and publicity for every one - the organizers, the contestant, the winners, and of course to Steve Harvey. Even made famous.
