Lugaw as non essential says a Barangay frontliner in Bulacan.

This event underscores the variety of interpretation by frontliners of IATF instructions/laws.  This makes life for the masses doubly difficult:    restricted movement and tyranical implementation of regulations as this one.   

Since when Lugaw, a food item becomes non essential?  Ano you can survive without lugaw?    (Sige na)

So more training more explanation more understanding of the instructions.  But in general, the easiest way to implement orders is to go for the strictest implementation to minimize deviation and time decision making by persons with limited ability to judge and decide.

We just hope the covid19 has not affected the way our people think from the IATF leadership down to the frontliners.  Such events make fighting covid19 more challenging

This post is rather alarmed about the huge outlay that were needed for BAHO laws 1 and 2, allegedly to be used for testing contract tracing quarantine facilties vaccines and more..  The country has incurred huge debts, mosly from multilateral organizations.

And yet our lawmakers and some leaders speak as if we we have endless source of funding for all of these:

1.  A solon has a TV ad to convince the Congress to give P10,000 each of citizens during this later part of Pandemic.

2.  Where has all the money gone  -  those that were budgetted by Congress.   The appeal by a Senator for an audit and/or accounting of the billions would seem to have fallen on deaf ears

What are to be expected during the ECQ?

1 ...EQ, Passes will be required?

2.  Checkpoints will there be plenty?

3.  Police behavior - will they be stricter or more brutal?  

4.  Public transport?   Will they be available or transportation will be limited.

RESULTS  -   WILL THE NUMBER OF CASES HOVER AT 10,000 OR MORE?

                        WILL THE CURVE FLATTEN?

Ayuda -  for the  ECQ duration will there be ayuda?

Amidst the negotiation between CBCP and the IATF for leniency on church masses, the San Agustin church in Intramuros had to be closed because its priest Fr Arnold Canoza succumbed to covid19.  

Earlier the  head of Manila church leadership declared displeasure with the govt order because it compared the leniency to spa and gyms.  (Which IATF also banned) and imposing such a ban during Holy Week period.   Bishop Broderick Pabillo issues letter to defy govt ban on mass gatherings. 

Without wishing to offend the church leadership, let us point out again:

1.  The church events were spreader places for covid19 being enclosed, people stay close together, there is poor ventilation.

2.  Other church sects leaders in USA died including some of their members died from covid after defying orders to stop holding mass gatherings.

3.  It is scary now because of super spreader variants.

4.  My personal experience is that the places which seemed to be immune from infection is now.

We do not know who are the carriers.  The temperature measurement can not ferret out asymptomatic individuals. 

Rather than argue with the public health officials leader, it is safer and saner move just to obey.  

The pandemic highlighted certan weakness in our society:   love of entitlement, exemptions and exceptions, pride.    Me first.  Certain sectors sense of superiority over others.        Death can be a penalty for continuance of such habit.

The country is in danger of losing 44 million doses from Covax due to irregularities in implementation of vaccination priorities ( Some local LGU executive officers had themselves vaccinated ahead of the priority list)

This is indicative of:

      1.  Culture of entitlement  -   me first

      2.  Abuse of power (what are we in power of)

      3.  Being pasaway (defiance and insubordination)

Maraming ayaw pumila,   Dapat ako muna.  Kaya may press pass, badge syndrome marami.   Wangwang 

kayabangan.
