Logistics problem in vaccine: supply and utilization.

It is more fun criticizing

Vaccine roll out in the Philippines

We all agree to eradicate threat from Covid in the Philippines.  And the only sure way is via vaccinations

An entrepreneurship cabinet secretary took out expensive TV ads to emphasize this truism  that our war against covid and poverty brought about by the same is via vaccination

Many are proposing activites to be allowed only if there is vaccination:   1.  by resto workers, 2.  other workers.  3.  teachers in face to face classes.

However the following are suspect regarding vaccines

    1.  We do not seem to have sufficient supply of vaccines
    2.  It distribution and roll out is suspect because there are about 400,000 doses of Moderna vaccines that are about to expire

What is that:   lack of supply and about to expire inventories    Management problem here

Should be solved by the best and brightest.

No need to downgrade our efforts in fight vs covid19

It is more fun criticizing

8.27.2021

Many have been crying for the dismissal resignation of a cabinet secretary for alleged failure to contain covid 19

But not so quick.  We should congratulate him and the team for the following:

1.  Testing
2.  Wearing of face mask; observance of health protocols
3.  Containing the spread an number of deaths.
4.  Increase of health facilities:    quarantine and isolation facilities.

There are rough edges but we are not entirely laggards in fight vs covid19

Philippines used  to have the highest number of cases.

Other countries which boasted on few cases are facing surges, 2nd or third wave:   Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, Korea.

Confusion in protocols during the pandemic

It is more fun criticizing

Rizal Philippines
6.29.2021

The administration would deny this and claim that their efficiency coordination has been up to par.  But some observations do not support this self praise.

1.  The orders vary from National to province to province, town to town and barrio to barrio.  They have their own sets ordinances that are in conflict.  This resulted in rotting of food produce because of this confusion, trucks bearing food have not been able to travel at market place.

2.  Face shield and face mask.  In US, ,before the pandemic blew up face masks were not mandatory, Now post pandemic peak, face masks and face shield

3.   DOTR says face shield is not required for bikers;   LGU ordinance says it is required.    And science  says that outdoors, and when not in public places infection/transmission does not take place.

4.  Will jabs prevent transmission?  Yes or no?  We are not sure.  We are not sure if seniors who are vaccinated will still stay at home or can they go out.  Even senators argued on this.     So sometimes, we doubt if vaccines will work or not.  Will you be immune for a year?  Not sure.   They say we are still in the trial stage of the vaccine

Are there deaths from the vaccines?   They are not sure.   But there are deaths even among those who were vaccinated.

Above all who is in charge of this health problem?   PNP or DOH.  It would seem to many that PNP is and fear that we have de factor martial. law.

Why are PNP personnel in a purely civilian mission wearing Battle Dress Attire (the fatigue camouflage type)   Are we in war?  And so it seems as they deal with civilans (still their address despite the fact that PNP is being demilitarized and programmed to be a civilian organization to "SERVE AND PROTECT

We must own the responsibility for the mistakes of current dispensation

It is more fun criticizing

5.06.2021

A lot of criticism has been thrown against the current dispensation on the following:

1.  Handling of covid19
2.  Control of corruption
3.  WPS issue
4.  Selection of and maintenance of senior govt officials despite ineptness
5.  Financial management - too much debt, too much (uncontrolled expenditures)

and many many more.

If the person concerned dont want to take responsibility, the people who elected him/them must own the responsibility and wise up.

Our enemy is covid19 - the pandemic not our citizens

It is unfortunate that some of our efforts to curb covid19  the protocols like the curfew and the ensuing punishment are misguided.  Instead of fighting covid, we make life of people misereable and unbearable.
Some even resulted in death.   (in an arrest made in Cavite)

As the papers say, this is an overreach (excessive)  Military minds prevail at IATF.

Every life we save fighting covid19 is important;  this event does not seem to reflect this importance.

We should redirect more our efforts?   And be focussed.

Early during the pandemic, one cant help but sympathize with the victims and help those who are in need.

But with the increase in number of patients and victims, we just can't have endless supply of sympathy and or resources to help.

It becomes a question of what is the greatest love of all -  loving oneself.  Protect oneself from covid19 so that you will not be a victim.

Does spraying the streets with disinfectant kill the covid virus?

It is more fun criticizing

Rizal Philippines
April 4, 2021

This post noted several posts about barangay staff spraying the  streets again presumably as  deterrent./defenses vs covid19

This post wonders the logic and relevance in this campaign considering that 1.  It was considered since 2020 to be ineffectual,  2.  WHO is if it considered the gold standard vs covid 19 considered it to be harmful.   One doctor, a member of the military, died at Philippine Arena, after being exposed to a misting facility.

Again covid19 is a drop infection and the virus being just a molecule can not survive outside a human host with moist membrane for a long period of time.

What the military police frontliners must watch for:   are 1.  crowds.  2.  mass gatherings 3.  especially in enclosed or unventilated spaces.

We also seek the barangay officials, police to treat the people as people not as subjects or enemies to be penalized punished for non compliance.   So far all we see is a display of power and might over the populace,.

We stop the virus.

And there are options aside from lockdown and vaccines whose safety are suspect

1,  Lianhua
2.  Ivermectin

But these alternatives are enmeshed  in politics bickerings and  difficulties.    We hope the govt helps rather than suppress punish and overpower.

The country is in danger of losing 44 million doses from Covax due to irregularities in implementation of vaccination priorities ( Some local LGU executive officers had themselves vaccinated ahead of the priority list)

This is indicative of:
      1.  Culture of entitlement  -   me first
      2.  Abuse of power (what are we in power of)
      3.  Being pasaway (defiance and insubordination)

Clarity on how covid is transmitted - THROUGH 3 CS -- CROWDS, CLOSE PERSONAL CONTACT, ENCLOSED SPACES

It is more fun criticizing

Rizal Philippines
3.23.2021

Despite stringent measures, covid19 cases have surged and registered the highest increase this March 2021 of 8000 cases.

What has caused this surge?

      1.  Growing laxity because of the  on going vaccination
      2.  Too early opening of the economy?
      3.  Mix up on understanding of the mechanism of covid19 transmission
      4.  Politicalized and or militarized implementation of countermeasures vs covid 19

This post would like to touch on #3.   Many have been influenced by the movie ""Pandemic" where many are led to believe that the virus is transmitted via fomite.

In many literature available, covid19 is a drop infection and is spread by saliva or sputum coming from a sneezing, talking, coughing or singing individual  in an en closed  space, crowd and close personal contract.   And the virus attaches to mostly moist tissues of the throat and nose.  The virus being only made of molecules and not of living organism can not exist in an open atmosphere especially where there are elevated temperature.

But what measures do we see:

      1.  Foot bath;
      2.  Disinfection
      3.  Lockdowns
      4.  Check points
      5.  Traffic control

In many parts most of the cases came from close personal contact with infected persons in hospitals (mostly that) or contact with persons in hospitals:  So we must be on guard always with first layer of infection or that of third (reinfection from the secondary contact)

All the above do not address the primary mode of infection.    3, 4, 5 are mere declaration and show of force and might by the government;  the disease transmission is minimally addressed by limiting and slowing the movement of persons.

What the govt must watch are the family affairs:   parties, gatherings, baptism, funeral where people are carefree do not wear masks, talk freely, for hours, -  situations that are ripe for the covid19 transmission.

NO NEED TO WONDER

Upsurge in numberr of cases of Covid 19

COVID-19 Superspreader Events in 28 Countries: Critical Patterns ...
Xplorr Tours & Travels - Home | Facebook

We have heard these horror stories with regards to covid19

1.  It is common to hear that the daily number of cases are in low 1,000 or high 2,500

2.  There was news that in a construction site, 500 workers tested positive.

3.  That for the trains most of the workers in maintenance and those who are ticketing tested positive

4.  In our local areas there  is a noticeable climb in the number of cases

5.  In churches in USA (which demanded early opening) they are closed again because of the high number of cases emanating from church rites and services...

6.  In a balikbayan ...pi (celebration, painom, tsibugan) two died in a village, and 18 others were infected.  Hence  the liquor ban

This post emphasizes the 3Cs as factor in spread of infection:  closed spaces, close personal contact, and crowds.

In a construction site, there is crowding, prolonged contact among workers and they constantly
shout.  The shouting causes the micro droplets to float and infect each other

In a church, people are in close contact, there is a crowd, and people sing pray and talk.  These
activities emit microdroplets which float in the air. and give each one a minimum infection dose

Nationwide Lockdown As The Coronavirus Continue To Spread

Lockdown in India - is it working - Al Jazeera
Following reports of CoVid 19 India following examples of other countries imposed a 21 day lockdown.  In an impoverished country of 1.3 Billion (the rise in wealth has not resulted in trickle down to the poorest people) this has produced negative effect, what with limited health faclities and system to respond to this pandemic.

Lack most countries, India has short supply of PPE and ventilators
