When we reach the limit of our patience and understanding of justice by men, we look up to Divine intervention and justice.  

1.  We do not need to look very far as in neighboring second largest economy located in Asia  which  has made life difficult for our fisherman, driving them away from their traditional fishing grounds.   What has happened to their country.

    1.  About 90% of their population is infected with Covid19;

    2.   Unknown number has died;

    3/  Firms which used to do the manufacturing in the country are leaving in droves because of

            1.  Desertion of employees of their work due to pandemic

            2.  Anti big tech policies, anti business Communist Party

2.   A number of employees we had who stole company money unexpectedly died.   

Divine justice in the Bible

3.  The eldest daughter of a City  Officer died after he stopped interments in an approved memorial park.    A wealthy man was shot to death maybe due to a business scam.   But he was known to have caused difficulties for the dead in a right of way squabble.

Some people take laws in to their hands for double cross.   We were in effect scammed by a City Govt official for asking us for several millions but the paper he gave us was dishonored by another govt agency.    Well he has brand new kidney.  Isn't that Divine Justice

That China has been experiencing the following:

1  Dire economic situation (defaults failed projects in their provinces)

2. Exodus of big name companies from China as manufacturing base;

3.  The high rate of covid infection in all of China

may be viewed as a karma comeuppance for their imperialistic moves in the Philippines -  setting up of bases in islands in WPS, driving away our fishermen in our own territory.

The authorities may have erred in allowing ftf classes and allowing optional wearing of masks in open

areas.  We could have relaxed too soon  And may regret the nth wave of covid infection

Yesterday this post  observed public transportation plying their routes.  They were back in usual numbers in their smoke belching speeding ways.  There were no more plastic dividers; were back to their usual load and with ever standing sabit passengers.

Conflicting information on the vax

The major soc media prohibits contrary views to the  vaccine.   Some are against the vax because of news that the new vax contain microchips to control society,  (and worse they could be zombies)

I took the vaccine because this post agreed that it is the best bet vs the  disease come infection time,   And that only those with vaccine card can go around with ease to malls, and other areas: It is the passport for air travel and to other areas of the  Philippines

But we see these information:

1.  The efficacy of thee vaccines is short:   6 mos to 1 year  (that is why it called vaccination not                       immunization 

2.  You can still be infected or infect others if you have vaccine but it will not be fatal.

3.   That there are anecdotes that those who were vaccinated got ill. 

Some speculate that the recent surge were due to vaccination (partly due  to complacency and relaxation of health protocols) and partly due to 3.

Let us pray so that the good Lord will end  due to HIS blessings and grace, aand through the human efforts

Early this week, I saw how enthusiastic the security officer were in haranguing citizens for:   non wearing of face mask and face shield in a market place, inconsiderate herding of customers of a financial institution   (as if we were negotiating for an ayuda)

Eh bakit nakafatigue ang police?  May giyera?  Vs its own citizens?

Today I saw large congregation of:   parents enrolling their children (the line extending several blocks and into interior streets) and  people waiting at a barangay (for an ayuda)   Why cant we mail the check or credit the amounts to their bank accounts.  To avoid the crowding.  There are various platforms to do this.   

And now we wonder why cases are not going down?  The govt agencies conduct activities that foster crowds and physical contact.   There is no need for police to be rude and harsh,   We are not the enemies.

Covid infection /transmission

One really begins to look after the lookdown as a prisoner in your own house being hemmed in by regulations (senior are not allowed to go out)   -  covid patient  recovering a neighbor, a daughter being suspect for having been with the daughter of a covid relative who died. 

I know of a household - 7 are infected simultaneously.  The advice to stay at home should be reviewed if infections are had at homes.

And all of these are happening despite draconian measures -  lockdown and nationwide vaccination...

Amidst the negotiation between CBCP and the IATF for leniency on church masses, the San Agustin church in Intramuros had to be closed because its priest Fr Arnold Canoza succumbed to covid19.  

Earlier the  head of Manila church leadership declared displeasure with the govt order because it compared the leniency to spa and gyms.  (Which IATF also banned) and imposing such a ban during Holy Week period.   Bishop Broderick Pabillo issues letter to defy govt ban on mass gatherings. 

Without wishing to offend the church leadership, let us point out again:

1.  The church events were spreader places for covid19 being enclosed, people stay close together, there is poor ventilation.

2.  Other church sects leaders in USA died including some of their members died from covid after defying orders to stop holding mass gatherings.

3.  It is scary now because of super spreader variants.

4.  My personal experience is that the places which seemed to be immune from infection is now.

We do not know who are the carriers.  The temperature measurement can not ferret out asymptomatic individuals. 

Rather than argue with the public health officials leader, it is safer and saner move just to obey.  

The pandemic highlighted certan weakness in our society:   love of entitlement, exemptions and exceptions, pride.    Me first.  Certain sectors sense of superiority over others.        Death can be a penalty for continuance of such habit.

This post has been a witness to a number of acts/decisions by local govts which may be considered at times bizarre.

1.  An LGU banned a particular group of athletes because one posed with a picture of his butts out.

     This post wonders what action it has to do with health, security, and fight vs covid 19.  Incidentally 

      their mayor got the disease.

2.  Another local exec prescribed the tricycle route  so they allege, that the spread of the disease may be

      easier to track.  The local lady exec got the infection.   

3.  For contract tracing we sign logbooks and pieces of paper with our names and telephone  number

     It has been found out that pranksters have listed spiderman as their name and the telephone number

     to be spurious.  There are apps and other electronic means using android for contract tracing.  Why 

     are we not using that.

4.  Fences, road blocks, logs Meralco post laid on the street which are supposed  to block the march of 

     covid 19.

5.  Why are APCs and 50 Cal machine guns being paraded in areas where there is covid19  So that

     covid 19 virus can be shot.

And yet we are battling Indonesia who can be the highest in Covid19 cases.   Why o why? 

I thought we have distinguished scienists and epdimiologists, the best of minds and well paid

Studies suggest that corona virus can stay stable on smooth surfaces like glass, metal and other smooth materials where they can remain virulent up to 7 days.    It  is unknown for clothes.

There is a difference between cleaning and disinfecting

It was suggested that clothes be washed at high temperature (the highest available in your washing machine)  the utensils being used to be disinfected with sodium hypochlorite (bleach) dry the clothes at once, and fold them at home (if you wash your clothes in public washing machine center)..

7.  That misting or disinfecting people as they enter certain places can prevent spread 

      of disease.

Coronavirus is spread by drop infection and transmission is possible only:

     1.  In crowded spaces

     2.   Close personal contact

     3.   Closed public spaces.

and prolonged periods of time wherein the minimum infectious dose are inhaled by the probable victims

Covid 19 origin - a conspiracy theory that it started in US

This post received a post at social media yesterday.  However, it seems that the post is deleted and could not forward the same to other friends through messenger, nor post at it at the same soc media platform where it started.  The picture of the covid19 labelled train bulk carrier is disturbing

This article may get me into trouble...???  This is just to save the post picture for posterity.  Surely, the US side would not like the world to see this theory and hypothesis

The post posit that the real source of the virus is from US because (as contained in the article)   of the following reasons:

1. There is a P5 laboratory in Maryland that delves in hazardous and deadly diseases:  Anthrax, SARS etc which although ordered closed due to non observance of waste water disposal still continue to operate

2.  The post alleges the Chinese spokesman version that the virus was brought to China who participated in the Wuhan War Games. There were 300 soldiers sent, no one won an event.  The soldiers went around Wuhan.

3. There is a long story that the reserarch started in University of North Carolina, and Chinese savants were involved;

4.  The findings that there are 4 to 5 versions/strain of the coronavirus around the world, and US has all the strains.

5.  There are speculations that US is the source since logiccally, if it has all the strains, then the conclusion is that  it is the source.

6.  The Wuhan theory can explain the Wuhan, Japan, Korea  (Italy becasuse of the Wuhan and Northern Italy business ties)  but not the US pandemic, nor high number of cases  in US - more than half a million, and that of Spain, France UK and Germany.   Why is there such a big number in US - due to the porous travel between US and China.

Unrestricted warfare

Some years ago, I taught in a leading university graduate school course innovation as part of entrepreneurship course.   The rule in innovation is first there is no rule.

Thus, this document could very well entitled innovation in military principles.

Due to the emergence of Covid 19 infecting more than a million, and killing more than 60,000 and bringing down the whole world to its knees (crash of stockmarket, shortage of hospital supplies, lack of vaccine) this document comes to our mind, having been mentioned in number of documents and videos, ie that this writing must have been imbibed by the civilian and military leaders in China to pursue this action.

The authors, colonels at PLA wrote this document in February 1999 and talks about use of means military and non military means to achieve a country's goal of achieving its goal (of dominating another country)
Qiao Liang and Wang Xiashou.

The document should be read by our civilian and military leaders (at National Defense College) which teaches military stragegy.  While we struggling with politics, our would be master are putting one over us, for using a combination of military and non military means.    (Some in the govt, by using media in battle for supremacy are employing some of the principles.)

Some of the notes/observations in document

1.   War is an activity using military and non military means, using limited resources to achieve superiority over other nations

2. Might is right.   Those who have more soldiers and weapons win the war

3. Use of technology in weapons:   technology dictate the weapon to be used, or warfare dictate what technology to be used.

4. With technology the distinction between military and non military action becomes blurred.

5.  With high technology comes the need for a variety of weapons to achieve a goal.  As much as 300 weapons are needed to win a war. Sometimes the search for high tech weapon could bankrupt a country as it did to Russia (as it is doing to US where a B2 bomber cost can exceed $billions

6. There are variety of weapons to be used in todays conflict:   financial, trade and ecological (like poisoning lakes and  rivers/water supply) and the effects could be more devastating than a nuclear war.

7.  There should be distinction between soldiers of war, and/or hackers or financiers like George Soro who can disrupt currency exchange rate, or can disrupt computer network.    And  a wise general/leader should be able to exploit both military and non military means to subjugate other nations...   The scope and breath of war has radically changed.

8. The Desert Storm War:

     Some lessons learned:

     1.  It was  42 day war accomplished in 38 days with Air Force taking the lead

     2.  The main weapon of victory were the helicopters but were not noticed after the war

     3. It was achieved at great cost of $61B and was like shooting birds with golden bullets

     4. The war worked because of reorganization of DOD between Powell and Schwarskopf
          But the US military did not learn from it because of conflict among Airforce, Navy and Army

     5.  It worked because of addition and combination (of allied forces which was worked on brilliantly
         by diplomats

     6.  War can be fought side by side with media (CNN) because it can be used as propaganda
          and could change the disposition and morale of enemies

     7.   Powell and Schwarskopf, although they won the Desert Storm could not be considered great
          generals because they used traditional methods using high tech weapons to win the war.

         They did not understand the new concept of war.  Modern warfare..

9.  Some recommendation:

    1. Use of golden number (as in Da Vinci Code)   1:681

    2. Side by side

    3. Cocktails (of means to achieve superiority)

    4.  Removing boundaries: between military means and non military means, personnel and weapons.
         A modem a cp, laptop could be as lethal as a nuclear bomb.  Or a tomahawk.

Many of the Generals could be inept in adapting these methods and strategy

    1.  Corona virus is with humans all the while

    2.  That it could have come from bats and pangolins from Malaysia.  But investigations of the genes
         would not support that.

   3. That it is a mutation from the SARS virus.

CONSPIRACY THEORIES

That it was spread by China

1.  All  ready a lawyer in US filed a class action suit for $20 trillion for causing mass destruction of lives nd wealth in the US

2.  US investigators are filing charges vs. Chinese scholars at Harvard for alleged spying theft of US intellectual property which involve gnome sequencing

3.  A Tier article suggested that a Bio Weapons Lab exists at Wuhan and it may have leaked accidentally
    (Wuhan Institute of Virology is 10 miles away from the Wuhan marketplace where the  ground zero)
from a Mosher Article  as related by Maj Gen Chen Weil a virologist and bio weapons expert  From Scientist - theory that it originated from a Virus Institute lacks evidence  This third allegations is purely circumstantial.)


That it is US

1. US maintains bio weapons labs in various places involved in SARS, anthrax and other diseases research

From the way it looks we have none.  The way we deal with the Covid 19, as all countries are, all is on ad hoc basis by the seat of the pants. And yet we witnessed the Outbreak, Pandemic movies. We saw the speech of Bill Gates prophesying that future wars will be fought with bio weapons, not nuclear weapons, and yet we did not pay attention to a future or present reality.  

What was the reaction of the President to the Virus  veeruz as he says, "duduraan" niya, a funny way of assessing a serious and deadly situation, but reflects our pride and hubris vs certain events that might happen

Do we have a health care plan for epidemics

None.  Why none?   We as a tropical country is subject to epidemics:  cholera, dengue. TB, and all other exotic diseases.  The Sub Saharan African countries were hit by Ebola (the disease that hit USA in "Outbreak"

The late Senator Myriam Defensor Santiago proposed HB 1573 "An Act Strengthening Naitonal Preparedness  and Response to Public Health Emergencies"  as early as 7  years ago,  still at committee level on the preparedness of the country vs pandemic.  Why does nobody pays attention to this.  (After reading the bill, I noticed that it lacked details on how the act shall be implemented.  Maybe somebody would work on this) )  RA 11332 enumerated more details on reporting of and containment of Public Health Emergencies.  But a lot more details would have to be inputted on the said law

Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness act  This act even calls for reserve force similar to that of Citizen Army.  

One of the experts on said infectious diseases who worked for WHO is former Sec of Health Manuel Dayrit .And right now he is being interviewed frequently as a resource person on epidemic

Our disaster preparedness and NDRMCC action on Taal Volcano is admireable.

Much is still be desired on the way we handled CoVid 19

1.  Too late a response?  We could have done the lockdown in February?

2.  Too soon to little preparation?

    Many were caught by surprise and many loopholes gaps in the execution were the order of the day:

    1.  Communication to the ground commander

    2.  Conflicts in the order:

        1.  Essential services employees could not get to work -  even doctors and nurses

       2.  Free flow of food and essential commodities -  the checkpoint mentality still persisted
           in the minds of police force and military;  hence food supplies became scarce

      3.  Schedule in going to the market  What was to be prevented:  people getting close to one another
           was not lessened;  it increased;

     4.  Delays or absence of  i food distribution.   The lockdown procedure in other countries meant that people  could not go to the market and groceries and hence food and other provisions must be delivered to
         the residents.  This could lead to riots if people are in lockdown and people have nothing to eat.

3.  Lockdown or mass testing ?

    Other countries did not have to resort to the cruel and harsh lockdown but managed to flatten the curve
    like South Korea and Japan.   Some great minds in the department in charge of health seem to be averse
    mass testing.  Germany goes for mass testing


The President says we are in a war. And good generals are prepared for various war scenarios.   For instance General Schwarskoff has all details of a battle plan drawn to the last logistic plan including tissue paper and slippers on soldiers.  We could do better than that?
