Banning EV vehicles from RORO - being safe or being backward?

It is more fun criticizing

An interisland shipping company recently banned EVs from being transported in its route in its RORO  vessels.   This came after the recent Arete fire in Coron which killed scores.   This move is seen by this post as a proper safety response to the said accident.  Because its vessels are very old and not equipped with fire suppressants for electric fires.  it opted to do it the safe way.

Others are saying its backward.

Remember the airplanes prohibited putting laptops  and cellphones for precisely the same safety reasons.  Its easy to spot and control fires when they are with you and you can see this.  (However a fire broke out in the overhead bin in one of the carry on baggage.  The fire started from an overheated cp)  Lithium in cp as in EVs are deadly and can break out into spontaneous fire.

A number of fires erupted worldwide in ships carrying evs, with burned lost vehicles numbering thousands.   This is a real fear being anticipated by the said good shipping managers.

Lets be safe...
