Politically motivated ?

It is more fun criticizing

We have a business partner who just ran for councilor but was gunned down days before the election.  It was a traumatic experience for him and the family.   He is  alive but pays for a bevy of security numbering
12 in all

It was insane to be gunned down near your home and witnessed by your wife and children.  And there could be not valid reason for the hit since he was a kind hearted barangay chairman for several years.

And all he could tell me as is in an island province is that it is politically motivated.  His opponents do not want him alive, because as he is coming out to be the strongest councilor, he could be very well be the next VM or Mayor.

How brutal and insane could politics be even in small distant towns in the province.

Pandemic - a blessing to those who are in power; also a cause of headache to the local leaders

It is more fun criticizing

Rizal Philippines
April 4, 2021

While the rest of the country reeled from the suffering and deaths brought about by the pandemic, it is not probably so with those who are in power:

1.  Access and control to large sums of money for their disposal, probably not subject to audit and accountability;
2.  Flexing power and domininion over the population;
3.  Conducting an advanced campaign using the taxpayers money and borrowings.

Many of the powers were delegated to the barangay lacking in training and manpower, hence the difficulties and challenges we face from the understanding and implementation of the orders are traceable to this.

However, many complain too:

      1.  Daily changes in policies which leave many frontliners confused;
      2.   Making pronouncement on aid that do not match the limited resources, forms.
The pandemic also hid and diverted attention from the weaknesses and problems at the govt, /barangay

The Water Company Cut Off Water to the Barangay System

This country can be great again.

Today we do not have water supply to our household;  they say the water company cut off the water supply to the barangay because it was not able to pay the water bills on time.  Because they were not able to collect all the receivables from the homeowners, because they were busy during the fiesta.

For me, it is a simple act of negligence and irresponsibility.  They should not have accepted the position if they could not do those simple task.  I hope we have more educated and responsible leaders.
