Severe floods due to torrential rains cause death and destruction in Southern China; a divine justice?

It is more fun criticizing

This came after abuse by Chinese coast guard of Philippine military at West Philippine sea.  Many of citizens comment that this is divine justice and is instant karma

This kind of conversation must stop.  The flooding is a natural phenomenon and God is good.  He does not want his creatures to die and suffer.   Let is pray for their leadership to decide better in WPS

Let us pray for their safety and for the rains to stop.  Calamities do happen to every one, including us.  We had our share of earthquakes typhoon and flooding.  And its not because we were unjust to some people or that we are sinful (as some say we are)

Mindanao now is experiencing flooding.    Are people from Mindanao sinners?  Or are they persecuting other people.  I think not

The rise and fall of the land of the rising sun.

It is more fun criticizing

The Japan  miracle growth was orchestrated by US to show that they can help Asian countries become prosperous.

The Japanese miracle from  1950 to 1975.  Due to inflated land prices.  Changes in accounting rules that allowed increasing prices as part of income.  Those days were heydays in the feeling of prosperity and progress of Japan.  The Japanese went on acquisition binge

And bubble burst in 1990.  The stock market crashed, the real estate prices fell down.   The Japanese faced the reality that they were not that wealthy.   From this crash, Japan never recovered.

Japan has one of the highest debt to GDP ratio.  (As USA).  Despite their seeming opulence, Japan has economic and financial weakness.

It is a nice place to visit and value for money because of the low exchange rate for Japan.

Barren minds, not barren land

In the talkback program of ANC with Tina Monzon Palma, the guest from  Mr GayoMFI talks about the problem in attaining food security is not the barren land, but barren minds of farmers.  With only 5 years of schooling on the average, they are less likely to improve on their methods and adopt modern farm technologies.  The resources are available:  credit, seeds, fertilizer, irrigation.   Yet our farm production, productivity has remained the same. Compare that with Israel that has barren land, sand/desert and yet grow plenty of vegetables which they export

Or even Batangas farmers who are rich because they plant 4 hectares of produce on 1 hectare of land?
