It is not so much of the war.    Its our deep attachment to USD as currency for trade   Maybe the corruption iissue,  fundamentals of economics (huge trade deficits) increasing ratio of debt to US (now Php 19 trillion), decline in OFW remittance.  

It also reflects defects n reporting system   Despite reported advances in use of non fossil fuels renewable in in our energy sector, the sudden spikes and in fuel prices and talks about oil deregulation belies the claim.  The country is still highly dependent on oil an coal.

Things to be done:

1.  Fiscal discipline,   Stop being a social state;

2   Push harder the non renewable energy drive; domestic coal and oil production and exploration.  

     (including moringa seeds for fuel)

3.  Encourage more agricultural and industrial productivity

4.  De couple from USD.  (like a BRIC country)

5.  More credible, honest to goodness leaders

 

Change in Senate leadership: Escudero out, Sotto in; Marcoleta ousted, Lacson in as Blue Ribbon committee chair

What does the change in Senate Leadership mean?

Was it caused by: 1.     Escudero being linked to com from contractor

                             2.      Powerful forces from Congress

                             3.      Rubbing the flood control culprits the wrong way?

                             4.      Simply caused by change of power dynamics

Is it OK for our country?   Or makes leadership uncertain?

According to the MT columnist R. Tiglao, the biggest 2025 news is the filing of case vs. the head of HOR for alleged violation of budget proceedings:     blank bicam report, and the budget insertions (which were not taken up at plenary).  The SD impeachment is merely a smokescreen and diversionary tactic.   

What do you think?

Is this is the end?  Many are hopeless hapless in the way corruption is on going at massive scale, and the leaders that are supposed to help the people are unstoppable.  As if they own stockholders of the Republic.  

And that the Filipino people made a mistake or brining back the family of wrongdoers regain power.   The People Power in 1986 was not a mistake and must not forgotten

We often hear of stewardship, of Servant Leadership.  The one who leads is the one who serves.  We often expect this of our leaders.  The generals eat last.

But we often dont see this with our elected and appointed officials

1.  SOP daw na police jail officers will rape lady inmates;

2. SOP for council officials (LGUs) for approval, for senators for franchise.

And for those who have transactions with poor suppliers:

A classmate whom I met at  50th year class reunion threw a challenging question regarding a ranking provincial govt official with whom they had business dealing. Since they are kababayan, and even neighbors I demurred and waited for him to recite his complaints.   In other words, he was not paid right and even paid at all.  As for me, the experience was the same.

Weather2 lang yan ika ko.  May time time for everything, sa pagsisi at at balik.  Ang perang dinaya ay magdadala pa ng malas sa kanila.  Pag natalo sila at hindi naman impossible yon,  mananagot sila sa mga korte at mga batas.  Tingnan natin ang mga Marcos na ang akala ay walang katapusan

Maraming mga negosyante, hindi makatigil ng pagkandidato para proteksiyonan mga utang na hindi binabayaran at mga illegal na maaaring lumutang pag hindi na sila opisyal

Ang conviction sa kay FL Marcos ay isang babala sa mga taong abusado.  Batas lang iyan ng tao hindi batas ng Diyos

No wonder the Left (and Trillanes) are criticizing and opposing the country's top leader

Unfulfilled Administration promises from Manila Times

It seems that the enthusiasm behind the  country's top leadership has waned despite high ratings in the country's survey.  No wonder the honeymoon of the administration with the Left is over, and there is no love lost between the leadership and Sen. Sonny Trillanes.  Many are thankful that Trillanes is there because otherwise, the top leader is unstoppable in his ways.

Direction going haywire

The direction of the administration has seem to have gone haywire with many of the promises unfulfilled:  the horrendous traffic, crimes (still abound -  pinasok ng baklas rehas ang bahay namin a  mere 80 meters away from the Police Station) marami pang snatchers at non drug related killings

Integrity issues hanging

And there seem to be credibility and integrity issues hanging in the air with regards to Trillanes rift, and the members of the first family wealth, connection with the big time drug lords, the BOC connection

Errors in decision making/knowledge

The top honcho must have made some shooting from the hip, lack of consultation/nor knowledge of the system when he made the promises.  Some how he got the votes when the carrots were dangled:

       1.  Increasing doubling the salaries of soldiers

       2.  SSS pension increase.  This would break the SSS.  Now to make the SSS viable, the contributions  have to be increased and there are objections from the employers and employees

       These are possible if the tax reforms are in place.   And so with scholarship at SUC.   There are no funds yet.   Decide and think and solve the possible problems later?

      The administration seem to facing a lot of challenges in having the tax reform bill passed.

     One might surmise that the  way govt is spending money,  the  finances are in big deficit now.

     Some advance the criticsm that the way the country is being run, is as if it is Davao City

Trapo din

The current leadership is not much different from other adminstrators who give favors to parties who supported the elections campaign and funding, the kababayan and friends family members given preferences.   And who can say for sure that corruption has stopped:   at BOC, at DPWH, at BIR

And making the govt a center of Mindanao folks and even making Davao  City the center of the country

Many were  suckered in with pictures and promise of brighter tomorrow which will never come

Pikon and revengeful

Some  parties, the big media companies which draw the ire of the top honchos are allegedly soundly rebuked and subjected to harassment.  As in the case of Mile Long property of the Prieto.   Prieto owns the Inq which is critical of the leadership

About a revolutionary government about nationwide martial law?

The right leader, the right change for our country will not come yet as of now.

As of now, we can only pray that the current leadership can be more and do more, and rise about pettiness and traditional politics  so that he will carve out a name for himself in the Philippine history
