                         Early jogging for fresh air;  whaaat ? Just look at the hazy horizon

The cold morning and heavy overcast cloudy skies makes pollution worse in Metro Manila as the above and following photographs show.  In an observation made by professors, there is perceived disconnect between what people say about green innovation and what we do.

We want green and clean environment but do we do:

l.  Our vehicles spew nitrous oxide and black soot; (diesel smoke has been classified by WHO as carcinogenic)

2.  We smoke;

3.  Our factories (just like a well known glass factory) spew pollutants into the air.

4.  Urban settlers without any remorse, dump garbage into floodway and Pasig river.

5.  The public enforcer for waste disposal and environment might be sleeping on the job.

In the next 5 to 10 years, we pay with our lives and our ill health for this negligence (pagwawalang bahala)  You do not need a Filosofo Tasyo for this.  Pollution is the leading cause of COPD and other respiratory diseases, and hormonal imbalance which causes cancer.   Pollution is a xenoestrogen

January 11, 2013.  Manila Philippines.  The deadly check point "encounter" shoot out raises many questions:

l.  Why were not the rules of engagement not followed?  How can the police leadership exercise more control?

2.  Is this really a battle for jueteng turf?  If so, how shameful for the police leadership fighting with their lives for the "barya", and how lowly can they get?

3.  There are allegations that the slain Mimaropa senior police officer was on a gold buying and selling mission, and that the bag containing the gold allegedly bought at CamSur was missing?

???? and more????

4.  Why 200 bullet holes in the vehicles  that were shot?  How ferocious can you get vs vehicles that did not stop at the check point?

5.  Will this incident happen again now that gun ban is in effect?  How can we be sure.

Fair warning to fellow motorists -  do not travel at night and pass through checkpoints in secluded area.  You may add to the 13 statistics.

PNP is probing the deadly shootout that left 10 and 3 officers of PNP and PAF dead.
It was alleged that the shoot out was a jueteng turf war. ONe of those dead was Police Superitendent Alfredo Consumino, a PNPA Class 86 graduate.  He had no deragatory record.  He is currently the deputy director of support group of Mimaropa Regional Headquarters.  One of the slain cops,  POI Jeffrey Valdez is his aide.

The incident took place between the boundary of Atimonan and Plaridel. There were  200 bullet holes on the vehicles, with 186 coming from  M 16 rifles;  this reflects the intensity of gunfire/firefight. Cash amounting to P265,000 was found at the crime scene (and not as millions earlier reported)

The cops manning the checkpoint have been grounded, so with the Atimonan police chief and Quezon provincial commander. The action was a result of the findings that the correct police procedures were not followed The check point head was Superintendent Hansel Marantan, Deputy Intelligence chief of , who is with the intelligence group of Calabarzon regional police, not in uniform at the checkpoint.  He was injured.  There were 7 policemen assisted by 20 soldiers


Reports said that the encounter was that the info was that the group accosted was a guns for hire group;   however, all but one of l4 guns at the crime scene were licensed.

3.  Why would PNP kill its own kind?

4.  Why is the death toll so high?  It is like PBO movies?

5.  What is the Mimaropa officer doing there?  ( covers Mindoro, Masbate, Romblon and Palawan) SPO1 Gruet Montuan one of those among killed, was supposed to be at Naujan at the time of the encounter

After the news of Pl.6 million cash gift of JPE to 18 fellow senators, there was also news that Belmonte gave P0.5 million cash gift to the congressman. This is in the from of MOOE (maintenance and other  operating expenses);  they used to receive half of that amount on a non Christmas day.  According to sources, it a 13th month, the usual practice in the Congress.

l.  Do you think there is anything unusual about this?

2.  Is this really a 13th month?

What do they do with public funds?  Is this really the reason why citizens do not pay the right taxes?

Is this a bribe?  Lusot ba ulit kung 13th month.

It was reported that JPE gave PHP 1.6 million cash gift to the senators.  Some allege that is to ward off a coup detat. Let us look into this.

l.  Is it the personal money of JPE?  If so where did he get it?

2.  If it is govt funds, why was it called "cash gift"?  Is it ok to give gifts using public funds?
Do they, does JPE own the govt funds?

3.  If it govt funds, were proper administrative procedures followed?

        Sen MDS, the arch enemy of JPE returned her cash gift to JPE (JPE returned MDS biscuit gift) urges audit of the savings of solons.  The question is that is it possible?  Will COA audit JPE.  Ang takot na lang nila.!

        At the end  of the day, it is the integrity of the public official that matters.  Do they have integrity?
