US Navy rans aground at Tubbataha reef

Social and political criticisms

From GMA news | January 17, 2013

The US warship USS Guardian which ran aground in Tubbataha reef refused inspection by the reef rangers of the group headed by Angelique Songco.  The US Navy crew simply answered that this will be coordinated with DFA by the Seventh Fleet and DFA.

Interesting questions:

 l.  Is the reef unmarked?  Are there no buoys to warn intruders?

2.  Does the US Avenger do not have GPS or radar so that they know that they are in a protected area.?

3.  Why are the Americans of haughty pa, eh they are the offenders?

4.  Is if possible that the sailors wanted to park by Tubbataha reef and go snorkling?

We should understand why the local government of Palawan and PHL is very much concerned with this incident.  A destroyed coral reef, known to be one of the best will mean lost revenues for them.
