ICC opens portal for witnesses for crimmes vs humanity
The ICC has opened a portal for witnesses which include present and former govt officials, law enforcers for the alleged crimes vs humaniity in past administratio war on drugs. It covers the period Nov 1, 2011 and March 16 2019, the period during which PHL is signatory to the Rome statude
The ICC prosecutor is currently investigating alleged crimes against humanity committed in the Philippines from Nov. 1, 2011 to March 16, 2019, the period when the country was officially a signatory to the Rome Statute, the treaty that established the tribunal.
This post guesses that ICC realizes that it must focus vs the shotgun approach of the investigative body and that it is limited to the period PHL is under ICC jurisdiction. The generalized inquiry and resource persons may not be able and enough to prosecute the accused.
