With just a month a several days to go, we can can make a conclusion that the battle is just between 

two major well financed camps:   that of BBM and SD tandem, and  Leni - Kiko.   Red and green vs the Pink.   Clausewitz and other strategists are right -  its a battle of resources.   

Its not about your intellect nor your leadership.  What matters are your network, php for your gasoline, travel, tarpaulins, radio and tv ads, social media and for the rallies and caravans.   You need supporters and networks, sponsors and financiers financiers.

All ready some of the candidates who neither have the php or the grassroots supporters are folding up probably winding their campaigns, and looking every inch a loser despite their words. 

Gunning  for presidency is no small deal, as local candidates will ask for millions of support to run their own campaigns.  If you have none, you can not count on them.  

So who has the mostest wins.  We will find out

It could have been a quick and crushing war waged by Russia vs Ukraine. What with massive quantity of aircraft, tanks and personnel.  But no the war is past one month duration and it seems that the outcome are inconclusive.

News has it that Russia has lost 10% of its war assets, planes, and tanks.   And lost about 16,000 of its personnel.   

Drones that fly night and day detecting their troop movements, deliver  weapons vs the enemy And handheld weapons that has more than 90% kill rate of tanks.   Tanks and their supply lines are bogged down in thawing ice which makes their movement difficult

Now superiority in war machinery does not mean victory anymore.  But cunning and  modern tech like these:   NLAW and drones made the swift victory of Russia unreachable.   No need to arrest Putin's General.  Putin underestimated the cunning and determination of Ukrainians and the the new weapons of war

While there are severe criticisms to the former Senator of being coward for non appearance at debate or

bobo for alleged non completion of  his Oxford degree, the good senator appeared well informed and well versed in govt administration.  One is amazed on the breadth and depth of his understanding of various topics:

     1.  Debt management

     2.  Food security

     3.  Foreign policy

     4.  Jobs and economy

     5.  Death penalty

     6.  Civil service

     7.  Long term and short term vision for the country

     8.  Health care

     9.   Ease of doing business

   10.  Continuance of DU30 pogram

It does not look he is being teleprompted or coached.  He looked spontaneous and the interview did not

like rehearsed.  

While Dr. Atty Montemayor on same program appeared very sagacious he approached the discussion from an academic point of view.

Of those who are on the list of presidentiable he looks like he is most capable of running the nation

On Non Payment of Estate Taxes of the Marcoses - Rodriguez vs Ramel

Critics, candidates for 2022 election may be speaking based on incomplete information and unsubstiated facts about the Marcoses.  One of the main issues is the non payment of the estate taxes.   P23 billion say some, P200 billion says the other.

What is an estate tax?  It is tax to be paid by the heirs when the estate from the deceased is to be transferred  to the heirs.

But in the case of Marcoses  that can not happen yet since the subject properties are subject of litigation

Many opponents even in the debate are speaking with certainty about the said alleged offense

Here is what the Marcos camp have to say

“For the enlightenment of Mr. Ramel, this case is hinged on a legal issue that has yet to attain finality since the government through the public prosecutors has filed a Motion for Reconsideration with the Sandiganbayan, on the forfeiture proceedings on the very same properties that were made the tax base in the computation of the estate tax by the BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) thus, the properties subject of the estate tax case are still under litigation,” Rodriguez said in a statement.

“In fact, even BIR and the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) have arrived at an agreement for the BIR to wait for the decision on the said case before any collection enforcement activities and to establish ownership of the subject properties with certainty to determine with accuracy the fair and just tax base to be used in computing estate taxes, if any,” he added.

How can you or will estate taxes be paid on estate that is subject of litigation and hence can not be transferred to the names of the heirs

As this is still undergoing adjudication, it is suggested that this not be made an issue in the debate or the election.   Instead of having more mileage in the campaign, this clarification may have backfired on those who are trying to gain advantage on a false claim vs the more popular Marcos

PDP Laban, Cusi wing endorses BBM SD

With the PDP laban endorsement  under Resolution No. 26  endorsement and that of the a former soldiers group, this observer predicts that BBM SD tandem is most likely to win the 2022 election:    (the endorsement is tapos na boxing for Sen Pacquiao)

The VP candidates in their debate agreed that the runaway winner will be this tandem.  And it is better for them to unite, so that the  vote of  opponents would be consolidated for Leni Kiko

1.  Very high  name recall -   It is an advantage  whether it is good or bad experience for  some people that Marcos name has a very high name recall, and so with Duterte (due to 6 years of Pres Dutertes reign . DU30 is very easy to remember What about other names?   For the second best candidate.?   Ever wondered why Sarah did not use her married surname -  Carpio.   Recall would be poor.  

2.  Wide representation to CDE population.     The second best candidate would appeal to ABC population which compromise only 30% of the  total population.  This post believes that the tandem is popular, dear to the  CDE voters who comprise 70% of the total voting population

3.  Geographical appeal.   SD appeals to Visayas and Mindanao, BBM maybe has 50%- 50% chance of taking Luzon votes.  But if indeed SD supports BBM, BBM would gain majority in Visayas and Mindanao

4   Silence during debate.    Some would say that non attendance of the debates is a sign of cowardice.  But I have seen many candidates lose their votes in open forum and debates.  Silence is golden.

5.   Logistics    BBM and DU30 are very likely to have huge resources - financial, connection, volunteers, old ties of her mother, GI connection

6.  Nega attacks made BBM more popular.and increased  name recall.   The DQ case at Comelec and further attacks and energy wasted by the political opponents increased the media mileage of the Red and Green tandem.  The underdog image is working for BBM

7.  Clear and focused campaign.    The tandem focused on few items that are dear to people's heart  Like the  magaling and paggaling  (building more centers -  heart kidney etc maybe in reference to the 

projects of her mother FL  Other campaigns are fuzzy and  vague

8.  More balanced and resource filled senatorial line up.   

That the tandem promise to continue the program of DU30 would likely win the endorsement of the 

incumbent President and increase the likelihood of their winning

The post may err but many things point to the possible win of the Red and Green tandem.    For others it would be waste of money and time.
