We had 9 past Presidents who were lawyers, 2 were bar topnotchers... and now our President is....

It is more fun criticizing

We had 9 past Presidents who were lawyers and two were bar topnotcher.   Cong Dadong and Manuel Roxas.  Our President now is....

How did we put him in office?.  Now our country belong to the dogs.   We are wallowing in the dregs of floods and corruption.

We cant blame anyone.  We elected him fair and square.  But later on lets learn and elect capable and inteligent good President.  Not   like this one...

What is going to happen to FPRRD who won the elections while incarcerated at the Hague prison?

It is more fun criticizing

Many are optimistic that  the former President will be set free on the basis of argument of lack of jurisdiction by ICC, the Philippines having withdrawn from the said body in 2019.   He also won the mayoralty election in Davao City despite the charges that are being tried in the Hague.

But as the days pass, this post is not optimistic of his release.

What do you think?

Many people forgot the event, and even elected the relative to most powerful position; now many regret this action

It is more fun criticizing

The masses, as many politicians observed, have such a short memory.  So many forgot who was ousted at the 1986 people power.   And even reelected him.  His promises were forgotten and they seemed to be back to old system and even more.

    1.  Their estate tax was not paid;
    2.  Many of their cases were dropped.
    3.  Billions
    4.  The questionable 2025 GAA has been disbursed 60%

Do we regret that we elected him?  He lost the VP race then vs Robredo, and would not have won with a little  (or big help) from their former friends from Davao.

And now the govt seem to be in shambles -  more corruption, being  a substance dependent?   What is happening?

Election watchdogs and other agencies should not have allowed candidates with previous cases or with arms cache

It is more fun criticizing

Everyone is now agog over the political killings at an island province.  The violence could have been averted had the eection watchdogs disallowed the candidacy of the one being accused of being the mastermind.   The power accumulated could not have been brought to fore only since last election.

This post believe so much in the statesmanship of someone who bore similar surname who headed the DOF before  The legacy has been marred. Sorry

Unofficial count results for the Pres and VP not surprising

It is more fun criticizing

For those who pooh poohed the surveys, maybe they should reconsider their points of view regarding SWS, Pulse Asia, Publicus, OCTA research.  The unofficial results based on ABS CBN feed

As of 2:32 AM, May 10, 2022, Marcos Jr., the standard-bearer of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, obtained 29,319,865 votes, based on 92 percent of partial, unofficial election results.   (from Comelec transparency server)

Leni Robredo got 13, 986, 496

This is consistent with the survey results that gave 57% of the  survey to BBM and 25% to VP Leni

Let us do the math:

          60,000,000 x 92%  =  29,319,865/55,200,000    31.46% =   53%

                                              13,986,496                                       =25.33%

This should not come as a surprise.   The campaign managers the  strategists for the campaign should have paid attention to this numbers and did their best as early as January to cause the needle to move

What surprised every one was that Robin Padilla topped bested all other candidates in the Senatorial race.  This again should not come as a surprise  (and a surprise to the surveys because Tulfo and/or Loren were the consistent topnotcher.   Well it is all about popularity

Some Board of Election inspectors required government issued IDs

It is more fun criticizing

A polling place (and even my daughters said it is necessary to have govt issued ids for identification.
There was an argument at the  said polling place because there is nothing in the  election code that says it is required.  It is good that the said precinct relented and followed the  provision of election code....

Sec. 194. Manner of obtaining ballots. - The voter shall approach the chairman and shall give his name and address together with other data concerning his person. In case any member of the board of election inspectors doubts the identity of the voter, the board of election inspectors shall check his voter's identification card or, if he does not have any, the board of election inspectors shall refer to his photograph and signature in the voter's application for registration. If the board of election inspectors is satisfied with his identity, the chairman shall distinctly announce the voter's name in a tone loud enough to be plainly heard throughout the polling place. If such voter has not been challenged, or if having been challenged, the question has been decided in his favor, the voter shall forthwith affix his signature in the proper space in the voting record, and the chairman shall, after first entering the number of the ballot in the corresponding space of the voting record, deliver to the voter one ballot correctly folded. No person other than the chairman shall deliver official ballots nor shall more than one ballot be delivered at one time.

Nearing Judgement Day on May 9, 2022

It is more fun criticizing

After months  of planning hard work on caravan, parades, meetings, publications at TV and soc media, everything comes to stop tomorrow.   On May 9, on Monday, comes judgement day.    This post dare say:

1.   Its a match up only between BBM SD, and LR and  KP

2.  Its a battle between the two on surveys and number of attendees on meeting;

3.  Many are worried about surveys and some came out with their own fabricated surveys which were
promptly taken down.  While many are saying that surveys are mind conditioning and should be
disregarded, the fact is the surveys correctly predicted the outcome of election

         1. PRRD victory
         2.  Leni Robredo victory as VP
         3.  GMA victory
         4.  Erap victory

Otherwise the survey firm would not have earned anything or closed shop.  The fact is they can be
relied on and are used extensively in planning marketing campaigns.

4.  It is very likely as of now with all big wig support to BBM:   INC support, the governors commitment El Shaddai, BBM is most likely to win.  The surveys:   OCTA  Publicus,  Pulse Asia say
this

5.  On his own BBM would have gotten only 15 to 20%;  the large percentage was brought about
by Pres daughter Sara who enjoy many supporter of her father (at 60% too).  BBM got the other
35 to 40% on SD popularity

5.  However we do not know what trouble awaits BBM

    1.  Final decision on his DQ;  He could be DQ' SD takes his place.  Is he or is he not guilty
of crimes involving moral turpitude:   on his ITR, and Estate Tax
    2.  US action on his election  - will there be destabilization moves.  All ready many US
         publications are ranting vs BBM

6.  Questions that we must ponder;

     1.   Will BBM be an able leader?
     2.  Is he not a puppet?
     3.  Will there be stealing of govt properties and wealth as some had been advocating

While there are not too many deaths and killings, the interactions posts at say FB have rabid and
devoid of civility.    Posting  cemetery markers near the name of candidate are not nice or calling
somebody as criminals without sufficient proof.

Or will SD be the new President?

We wonder

The die is cast; they have crossed the Rubicon

It is more fun criticizing

It is just 11 days just before the May 9,2022 local and national election.  The latest survey still show the same results and bric bracs continue to be thrown among supporters at social media.  They look more rancid and pointed.  One of the parties have gone on house to house sectoral campaign.  But most of the voter are very unlikely to change votes  They show pictures of stores changing tarpaulin

Those who lead the surveys are more likely to be the winners.  One such candidate Cong Marcoleta because of the surveys, quit the senatorial race He saw the futility of it all. .  Those in the senatorial race in the 30th or 40th ranking should face reality and expect nothing more.   And so with the 8 other candidates for Presidency

Only the final voting will remove the sense of apprehension and suspense.  We will never know the truth who the liars and thieves are unless our courts prove them to be so.   Like any human rights respectful citizen, the brand on the character of the person shall be evidence based.   If the opposition really are morally upright, they should have sent the concerned parties behind bars.

Are surveys accurate?

It is more fun criticizing

Many candidates dump the importance of surveys.   Yet their supporters continue their support or desert them depending on survey results.

The surveys were correct with regards to Pnoy and GMA victory;  they also predicted Robredo and Duterte victories

That is the only metric KRA available to the candidates and the campaign managers.   Otherwise everybody will be in total darkness.    (In local elections they have term for that  "ïskrutinyo"    A religious group has been known to thrown in a support for a candidate by knowing the  iskrutinyo.  Though statistically they can not influenc the election result, the accuracy of their support based on the said type of survey give them a semblance of power and influence (leadership)

What is significant though is that surveys can influence the voters preference for the winninable candidate

Its just a battle between BBM SD, and Leni Kiko

It is more fun criticizing

With just a month a several days to go, we can can make a conclusion that the battle is just between
two major well financed camps:   that of BBM and SD tandem, and  Leni - Kiko.   Red and green vs the Pink.   Clausewitz and other strategists are right -  its a battle of resources.

Its not about your intellect nor your leadership.  What matters are your network, php for your gasoline, travel, tarpaulins, radio and tv ads, social media and for the rallies and caravans.   You need supporters and networks, sponsors and financiers financiers.

All ready some of the candidates who neither have the php or the grassroots supporters are folding up probably winding their campaigns, and looking every inch a loser despite their words.

Gunning  for presidency is no small deal, as local candidates will ask for millions of support to run their own campaigns.  If you have none, you can not count on them.

So who has the mostest wins.  We will find out

Still leading despite all the  negative publicity?
                                                                     But why?

Who is going to win the election?

It is more fun criticizing

What is your prediction.?  I do not like the winner in the survey but from the looks of it he is going to be the winner of the 2022 Presidential election.

This post wonders why there is such a strong following despite all the mud that has been thrown to him?
Is it because he is good looking as well as his running mate that the young voters who comprise the majority are attracted to him?  Or may be they do not know his past well enough.  Or that many think that the sins of the father cant be the sin of the  son.

His overcoming the DQ cases at Comelec even made him more popular

Duterte Robredo win imminent?

It is more fun criticizing

Philippines May 8, 2016

28duterte1-620x404

As we go to the polls tomorrow to elect the Philippines 16th President, it is the fearless forecast of this writer that Duterte will be the next President of the Philippines under a clean and honest election scenario.  I thought before that it was going to be Duterte Bongbong but Bongbong was battered by the martial law campaign, the EDSA rev group about the alleged crimes ill gotten wealth of his late father.  But we would not count out Bongbong yet because, the Duterte supporters may overtue  total Robredo win.    Leni is strong because of her persona as well as because of the resources of the administration.

Binay was weakened by the Trillanes Cayetano attack at the Senate hearing.  Myriam ranks low but her health condition is her problem. We would not want to be led by a leader whose health condition is at risk.   We wonder why Roxas despite the slant the the press, the resources of the administration, the weight of his grand father's name, he could not pull through this one.  And this is his second try.

As for Trillanes attack on Duterte, it came a little bit late.  Maybe he thought that the timing was perfect because it was too late to counter attack having thrown the bomb two weeks before the election.  The trouble was BPI would not want to get the wrath of Duterte supporters and played coy in issuing its certifcation.  It was a dud

His pronouncements that a coup is imminent and that he could lead one again vs Duterte  puts a question on why he was released because he not Duterte is the really dangerous leader and man.  He should not count out the alliances of Duterte  whose party is left of center.   He promised salary increases for soldiers and policeman once elected.  He has the backing of retired general too. So the good failed putsch leader must be careful in his ranting.  It also created fear among people about Duterte. Duterte is a compassionate man  as shown by many videos and as narrated by a colleague when he was consulted by the mayor on FINANCE FOR THE COUNTRY.

Pnoy calls for Roxas Poe coalition to beat Duterte

It is more fun criticizing

Pres Aquino calls for Poe Roxas coalition

Pres Aquino asks for Rozas Poe coalition in order to defeat Duterte whom he say is a threat to democracy.  Duterte with his recent pronouncement is likely to bring back dictatorship (note he will close Congress if an impeachment would be filed vs him, cutting ties with US and Australia.).  This will negate the gains made by his mother and his reign.  If Poe and Roxas would join force (how this is to be doie - somebody would quit the race) the 40% of Poe and Roxas can beat Duterte.

Binay's camp called for free and honest election rather than calling for coalition (It was alleged that the ballots were highlighted with the administration candidates.)    Some quarter fear massive cheating to happen.

Why is the President so concerned about Duterte's win?  Dont we have enough controls vs dictatorship.?

Are his plans workable? It is too late I guess.  Even with Trillanes making an expose on alleged hidden wealth of Duterte, the hold of Duterte on his lead still remains.

Undue advantage of the incumbent

It is more fun criticizing

Rizal Philippines
April 13, 2016

Yesterday, I saw and heard  that the incumbent candidates have undue advantage over the other candidates.   Like the public address system of for the traffic and that of the garbage trucks are being used to play the jingle of the candidates.   Like the barangay volunteers are used for the saturation drive

In love, war  and politics, life is not fair.
