Meritocracy in govt appointment is still far off. in our appointment of managers and leaders.  We cant still benchmark the example of Singapore in selection of senior managers.  It was their secret in propelling Singapore to a premier spot in economic progress.

The latest appointment of President to be Duterte, Vitaliano Aguirre as DOJ secretary and the others were probably based on school boy ties at San Beda College.   Most of his cabinet members were either childhood friends or school mate.

We hope that appointment of Mark Villar made after the NP Coalition MoA with fmr Senator Manuel Villar was a good choice, as DPWH Secretary.  (or a horse trading?)

We wish our new President well.

Over the week end  I attended a gathering.  It was a celebration of dual achievement both involving outdoor sports.  There was drinking Saturday evening, both hard drinks and beer. There was whisky also and there was a lot of laughter and loud voices.  The following day, beginning at 10 am, there was a lot of drinking.  There was beer, Mexican wine and whisky. Later in the afternoon, there was grass burning and sniffing.  The drinking was near the roadside and there was lot of laughter, shouting and merriment.

The people who attended were mostly professionals and had jobs.

Now yesterday, the President to be Rodrigo Duterte announced that some of this merriment would have to end.  Kaya pala enjoy sila/kami yesterday.  Time to get sober and get this nation going. Less foolishness/merriment is seen when Duterte assumes power.

There was an alleged news that tell that Leni Robredo will immediately resign if she gets elected as VP and will serve under Duterte. True?  This is alleged news leak is making rounds of  Facebook and is drawing in a lot of comments, both favorable and unfavorable.  First no one in her right mind would do after the hard work of campaigning.  It is also turning back mandate of the people for minor reasons. Very unleaderslike

Another hoax is about the alleged deposit of the to be proclaimed President Rodrigo Duterte on November 20, 2011, which was a Sunday. Somebody made the mistake of copying the wrong dates
It was an obvious fake document and PDI swallowed it hook line and sinker without verification

How can honorable Senators and campaign managers post these horrible hoaxes.  The social media and the internet makes it so easy to created these hoaxes and they destroy people.  Now is the time for healing.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte solidified his lead over his closest rival who is now admin candidate Mar Roxas, as of 3:00 am today:

Duterte is leading with 14,730,937 votes as of 3:20 a.m. of Tuesday (May 10).  His lead over the 2nd placer is nearly 6 million.

Liberal Party's (LP) Manuel "Mar" Roxas is in second with 8,829,758 votes, while independent candidate Grace Poe is in third place with 8,283,562 while United Nationalist Alliance bet Jejomar "Jojo" Binay has 4,921,758 votes, while Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago has 1,342,383 votes.

For the VP race, administration candidate Leni Robredo overtook Bong2 Marcos who initial led the count.   She has 12,860 722 vs Bong2 count of 12,860, 147

Davao City Mayor Duterte has extended his hand towards the healing process and reconciliation even to Sen Trillanes
