The Philippine Drug War and the political intramural has made to the international laundrymat: Christiane Amanpour interviewed Senators Leila de Lima and Peter Alan Cayetano regarding the spate of EJ killings in the country that are related to the drug war. Sen de Lima denounced the killings as summary execution; Sen Cayetano defended the President.
This post frowns on the de Lima denunciation. What could have been a purely domestic quarrel has reached the international arena and has put the country and its leadership in bad light.
