What DU30 is a top drug protector - De LIma?

After news came out Dec 2, 2016 that DU30 ordered the reinstatement of CIDG head Mervin Marcos, alleged leader of the CIDG group that did Mayor Espinosa in, Sen de Lima alleges that it is possible that the President is a drug protector?  What?  Something is moronic if not quixotic going on (the lady must have gone crazy for making that conclusion) After being accused of abetting the drug trade under watch and being alleged as using drug money for her election, she has the guts and nerve (under sane conditions) to accuse the top drug nemesis this accusation;  and after basing her premise on the allegations of the son Kerwin (whom she says she is a liar for alleging that she received millions from the former)

DU30 could be right that the lady has gone crazy out of desperation for being hemmed in a corner.  But as she said, she is not giving up.

Ex PDEA chief asked to testify vs. de Lima?

The lady senator now being investigated at Congress claims that Lt. Col Ferdinand Marcelino is being pressured to testify against her.  The lady showed text messages to classmate of Marcelino for the support of the lady senator while he was incarcerated, and that there was pressure.   The good colonel denies being pressured

In a sudden turn of events, Marcelino, the case vs Marcelino revived last Wednesday last Wednesday after it was dismissed last June.  (Marcelino was accused at Manila RTC together with Chinese national Yan Hi Shou for being in possession of P380 million worth of illegal drugs.)

There were allegations that the lady visited Marcelino while he was incarcerated.

Marcelino sought the help of PAO and filed for motion to stop the warrant of arrest and to quash the case that is being revived.

A party list solon has called on an embattled lady solon being investigated in the house of reps, to resign. The current DOJ secretary announced that there are enough testimonial evidence (not hearsay) to charge the lady for violation of dangerous drug laws and anti graft and corrupt practices act.

The subject  lady solon pointed to the President as being behind the plot to remove her from Senate committee chairmanship (and probably the Congress inquiry into her involvement with NBP drug trade).   Well it could be Pres or it could be the member of the Senate or Congress who are know how to think about right and wrong.

The Pres even suggested that the lady solon hang herself.  She violated a basic rule prescribed by Machiavelli with regards to power -  Do not wound the king.    The lady having thought of herself as being all powerful and all knowing may have over reached the boundaries of her power and might.  No the solons at the House were not fabricating lies, nor even her previous sub alterns:   NBI officers, BuCor officers, and from other branches.   Magleo looks intelligent enough and conscious stricken to have done his testimony and to still consider himself as police officer.

The claim that her rights were violated when her number was called  was off track, since the phone that she used in her operations and announced in the inquiry -  that was a DOJ owned cellphone that she is using and is not a private number.  That she used it for her NBP operations and now discovered was of her own doing not that of DOJ Aguirre nor that of Congress:   From Kicker Daily -

CNN's Amanpour interviews de Lima and Cayetano on drug war

The Philippine Drug War and the political intramural has made to the international laundrymat:   Christiane Amanpour interviewed Senators Leila de Lima and Peter Alan Cayetano regarding the spate of EJ killings in the country that are related to the drug war.  Sen de Lima denounced the killings as summary execution;   Sen Cayetano defended the President.

This post frowns on the de Lima denunciation. What could have been a purely domestic quarrel has reached the international arena and has put the country and its leadership in bad light. In a way the grudge war with the President has escalated and in the balance of power, she could be the mega loser A netizen, certain Inocencio has denounced the lady Senator for bringing down the country and its leadership name in the international community. While everybody strives to bring good name for the country, a supposed leader a Senator has done this great disservice to the country

The Senators who questioned the various parties involved in EJ killing were more appreciative and  more sympathetic to PNP efforts to curb drugs.  Sen Gringo Honasan, Ralph Recto and Win Gatchalian asked questions that were friendlier to PNP and Chief Bato de la Rosa.  Chair Person Leila de Lima noted that the proceedings for the day were diverted from the drug related killing.

Sen de Lima in an unusual manner and out of order as Chairman asked leading questions and explained issues to the CHR head. regarding AO35; ie that the focus of the said AO was the killing of activists journalists and course oriented groups, hence the omission of drug killing from the list.   However it was an attempt to negate Cayetano arguments in labeling deaths from vigilante groups and in police encounters were Extra Judicial Killings, and thus the hearing was merely a ploy to embarrass PNP, DU30.

The AO was clear that killings that are related to other criminals or perpetrators of other crimes would be addressed differently (thus the killings that are drug related are also classified as EJ killings?  as if the former Sec was not very intelligent person and very methodical lawyer?)

In what appears to be scripted Q and A, the good senator tried to defend her position and thesis in holding this hearing.

That UN would intervene in case PHL do not act on this, and place PHL under its jurisdiction is uncalled for supposition.   Its an infringement on the sovereignty of the Philipines indeed as it deals with criminality.   Did UN intervene in the deaths in Colombia and Mexico that were drug related?

We should sympathize and support the Police and its chief Bato de la Rosa in this campaign, who admitted hirap na hirap na sila in the perforamnce of their duty and this negative reaction from top govt officials.   But many people at the grassroot expressed their gratitude that soon drugs and criminality will be over.
