1. Do not wound the Queen.
Ama at anak at iba pang kamag anak. Mabuti na check maaga isa pang anak na balitang may puwersa
sa isang ahensya ng gobyerno
2. Si GMA
Kangino malaki political
debt kay Bong2 o GMA. O between Alvarez at GMA sino mas malaki naitulong kay DU30
3. Blood is thicker than water.
3. There are no permanent friends in politics, only changing alliances and self interest
Kailangang magbasa pa nang The Prince, if this post may suggest.

From Business Mirror - leadership struggle in HOR caused dalay in Sona
In a surprise move, 162 congressmen installed former Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as the new House Speaker replacing Davao del Norte Cong, Pantaleon Alvarez Monday afternoon, timed during Pres. Dutertes SONA.
The Palace has distanced itself and has not made any comment on the event. There are whispers that the Pres daughter the Mayor of Davao city has wielded her influence to have Alvarez ousted because the latter pissed the Pres. daughter
All ready, she is installing new house committee members
So too are objections and furor over her election
1. Of course the supporters of Alvarez are questioning the legality of the move. The ouster took place when the House was not in session (Alvarez just adjourned it) Alvarez and Majority Leader Farinas have left the session hall to welcome Pres. Duterte. The event caused the delay in the delivery of the Sona. Of course, those who did it are aware of the House Rules
2. The Human rights activists are all ready threatening to make GMA to be held accountable for the Human Rights violations by the former President
3. So too with other parties who are wondering why SC dismissed her plunder case, which the Ombudsman Carpio said had a watertight case (the PCSO plunder) And so with string of other cases pending before her.
4. She might be the new Prime Minister under the new Federal Govt.
Power struggle looms as Bongbong attempts a comeback to the govt/Vice Presidency....And now here is GMA staging a comeback too..
What is happening to our country? Prime example of culprits/offenders in govt reclaiming their stake in political landscape after there are allegations of corruption. Corruption will never decrease in our country because of this bad example from the opt

Rwanda, the 3rd least corrupt country in Africa.
Philippines drops to 111th spot from 105th place in 2016 in corruption index
Sub African score natin. We belong to 2/3 of the worlds score ie that most countries are corrupt
The President of the Country in the State of Nation Address mentioned again the relentless pursuit vs corruption. Personally at the LGU level where we do business, getting permit is a formidable task and grease money is big time. It has not improved over the years
Compare that with Rwanda which is 48th least corrupt in the world, 3rd in Africa. It has moved up two notches since 2016. First in Africa is Seychelles (ranked 34th in the world) and second is Seychelles (36th in the world) Tied in third place is Cape Verde.... How do they do it? Simplifying processes (we are doing this) automating this as in payment of fines.... However, our employees here have a way of sabotaging the system so that we go back to the manual corrupt system
Compare that with the ranking of the Philippines which 111th among 180 countries. The ranking is one of the lowest in years. In 2016, Philippines rank was 105th. It dived 35 points in 2017!!!! Hu hu hu hu Sabagay, iyan ang totoo. Wala na tayong mgagawa? Sayang dada ng Pangulo
Corruption Perception Index gives ranking of 0 to 100 score with 0 least corrupt and those near 100 more corrupt. 2/3 of the world score less than 50 (meaning many countries are corrupt). Those who rank high are New Zealand with score of 89 and Denmark 88. The least are Syria 14 South Sudan `12 and Somalia (the land of the Pirates) Those with poor peace and order score low on corruption index.
Is Philippine govt really serious in combating corruption? What is our goal? Cant we be like Rwanda? Sino mas advanced at mas magaling ang gobyerno? Di ba mas magaling tayo at mas asensado?

Portion of SCTEX cut by erosion from heavy rains
From CNN, habagat and Typhoon Inday brings more rains
From Inquirer - heavy rains flood SCTEX NLEX, portions of Central Luzon (would you believe there was flood at Sagada?)
I just got two text messages from my brother (obviously forwarded by some one else) pointing out that nowhere in the world is there typhoon; and we have had 5: Henry Gardo, Maria to mention some of them. And we have intense flooding with SCTEX with Bataan and other Central and Northern Luzon provinces (Pangasinan) bearing the brunt...
Could it be that anti God remarks of the Philippine head be behind this? This did not only caused angry reaction from the leadership of the Catholic church but probably from God Himself.

Come to think of it that is correct. And this all took place at the heels of this leader delivering an important speech for his followers. His followers, not him, are being punished. Kadamay

As per Wiki, Philippines is
34th largest economy in the world
3rd largest economy in ASEAN (after Indonesia and Thailand)
6th in Southeast Asia after Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. (We could be richer had we not relinquished claim to Sabah, part of Sultanate of Sulu (thanks to some traitors who sold RP out to Malaysia)
That is a good note we have to remember about the wealth of the Philippines
GDP of Philippines as of 2016 is $2,951.07 vs $5,907.91 of Thailand and fast rising Vietnam $2,185.69

It is Sunday and the rains continue to pound us (has been for the last 3 weeks). It reminded me a post I should have made weeks ago.
Three weeks ago I met a Malaysian, an in law of one of our companions who is an Englishman from Malaysia and who said he is a Marxist communist. He wonders why there is such a big fuss over the plight of migrants, and those refugees waiting for aid from EU countries. He said we live in one borderless world
Yes indeed, as the song of Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson We are the World and others say, we are the world. We live in a one world. Trade and travel internet makes this world one community. Yet in a shocking display of parochialism, countries and nations impose borders and limits. EU makes such a reality but EU against the world. ASEAN makes it a borderless region among member nations. And there are many countries, who offer visa less travel albeit for a limited time to their shores as Taiwan and HK.
MDs without border is truly admired for doing humanitarian work everywhere in the world where is health problem and even in countries at war. Truly why not just one world. A world without borders. A world without hatred for other nations... (Of course that is Utopian) MSF Medici san Frontiers
And yet what do we see now:
1. Refugees from Africa and Syria being denied assistance by member countries of EU: France, Europe, Germany
2. Widespread trade war being promoted by USA vs China and Europe thus slowing trade and growth.
We are on verge of another real war after the trade war
But there are many things which we would like to do together: United Nations, fight vs nuclear weapons, fight vs global warming

July 19, 2018
Many of us have been lulled to believing that they are illegal in Philippine major streets. But no such laws prohibit their plying Philippine highways and major streets. They have become the most common and convenient transportation in many parts of the country especially in rural areas. They are so numerous that they account for 1/3 of total motor vehicles registered in the country. They are every where They outnumber cars. Thus they wield clout in local elections (and probably even in national elections) Legislating against them invite political doom
They have been banned in some areas of Manila. and colorum tricycles have been confiscated in QC.
They have figured in many fatal accidents in highways: major collisions between bus and trucks, collisions/crashes between tricycle and pedestrians. Tricycles are no match to the size speed and mass of trucks and buses
Almost all tricycles are uninsured. If you figure in an accident with a tricycle, the likelihood is that they will merely scratch their head. No responsibility
With this, they ply the road the impunity. Continued disregard of traffic rules and safety are often the norm, and so with lax licensing and enforcement
1. U turn where none is allowed
2. Overtaking from the right;
3. Parking in areas where it is not allowed.
4. Having waiting areas for passenger in curves and stations
5. Racing and overspeeding in highways.
6. Doing full transport from town to town
What can be done regarding their operations with regards to safety and efficient traffic
While there is a proposed Magna Carta for tricycles being proposed for tricycles and drivers, there are no provisions for insurance and for safety regulations and safety

July 18, 2018
Defects were noted and criticisms were raised in today's hearing on the proposed draft of federalism constitution at the Senate. Among those who spoke were Associate Justice Mendoza, Adolfo Azcuna, and Neri Colmenares. The former spoke about the transitory provisions and remandable rights of the citizen under the new provisions.
Neri Colmenares had cogent albeit stinging arguments vs the new proposed constitution:
1. New property rights to foreigners. This would make land unaffordable to many Filipino citizens as this
could cause price of land skyrocket and saying goodbye to land reform and food security; (x only lease is allowed)
2. Many new powers granted to the President: to use emergency powers even in case of cyber attacks, in case certain states do not follow the central govt. While federalism seem to distribute powers, it would make the President very powerful. While he promised to step down, nothing would seem to prevent him from running again.
Despite the proposed objective of democratizing power the states, on the contrary, the constitution and the provisional transitory provision would make the said office very powerful.
While the federalism aims to diffuse budget to the Visayas and Mindanao, current budgeting trends show the budget in those areas decreasing and central govt (NCR) increasing (50% of national taxes shall go to federated states)
3. There is spectre of Noel because of complications in timing, and term extensions of Senators (the term would be reduced to 4 years - horse trading with Senators?)
4. And above all, the new constitution prohibits its amendment in the future? WHAT? (Reading the draft proves this to be false)
Academicians and professionals are against the proposed charter change. SWS and Pulse Asia shows that there is no sense of urgency of those surveyed to go on cha cha nor for federalism...

1. Disenchantment from the masses because of rise in prices. The invisible benefit of more take home pay due to bigger income tax exemption could not overshadow the rising prices... from jeepney fare, electricity, water, consumer goods. The excise tax on fuel, it could not be denied, started the inflation. (aabot ng P4.50/litter)
2. Rising spate of killings and criminality. Despite claims of victory vs drug lords and addicts, crimes vs lives and property is uncontrolled
3. Controversial statements against God. That would rub the Catholics the wrong way, and make them enemies...Many posts are appearing experessing anger vs the President. And if God is stupid, which gives him power (Romans 13:22) then that makes him stupid. The Stupid God giving power to a stupid person...ha6) Dapat walang nang ganun. Its OK to rant vs Obama and other visible persons but about beings whom we do not see, and above us....
90% of Filipinos (and probably who put him into power) are Christians? Why are they not rising up in arms against him yet?
4. The Concon and federalism. Many people do not understand, are against it, and for many practical reason. And those ruling the country would want this to be railroaded (if not bulldozed) rammed into the throat of the people
The country's leader and his cabinet, his sub alterns, I believe are more intelligent and circumspect than what these actions takens

Is very unlikely that this author will not get a visa to travel to the US? Well this post is simply a research of what has been written by Westerners themselves (Brits)
How many Filipinos were really killed in the Fil- American war? A quarter of a million as mentioned in Wiki, or more than that. Some writers placed this at 1.4 million. others at 3 million. Even at 200,000+ this is still very high considering that Philippine population at that time was no more than 9 million (2.2%)
In the Peoples History of the US, death toll at Batangas alone was placed at 300,000 In William Pomeroys Neo Colonialism (1970) the number of Filipinos killed at at 600,000 in Luzon alone. This was confirmed by General Bell who cited the same figure.
E Ahmed claimed in his book, the Theories and Fallacies of Counter Insurgency, The Nation, August 1971 estimates the number of dead at 3,000,000 and the bloodiest colonial war fought by white men in Asia.
And history is focused on German, Hitler atrocities in Europe, the holocaust. This is an American shame...And shame to the Filipino brown brothers and traitors. And those who fought with Americans in WW I being claimed as heroes...What is this
Mark Twain wrote against this US atrocity. A US soldier in NY mentioned that in a certain town in Titaia, as reprisal for the killing of American soldiers, they killed 1,000 men women and children in one night..
In the video, it is claimed that Americans killed more people than Germans did at Holocaust. True?

The July 4 US Independence Day US Celebration (now the Fil Am friendship day) and the recent Trump trade war launched by US vs China reminds us of how powerful US is - the big benevolent brother, the country that saved PHL from Spanish 400 colonial rule.
However, how easily many of us have forgotten the Fil Am war that claimed nearly a quarter million lives, well with atrocities being committed on both sides. That is hardly the kind Americans whom Filipinos fought for in the Japanese war...Or those who nearly annihilated the residents of Balangiga.
Many termed this war as genocide and the first Vietnam for US outside of their country..
Yet we line up at US embassy to work for the land of milk and honey...And still wag our tails at the sight of them.... Let us think more independently and fell proud as Filipinos - strong intelligent and resilient
We still have the US colonial mentality - we love all things Americans, ape Americans, love Americans etc....

Hate for Japanese atrocitiies, Spaniards persist but not vs Americans....
