Why is Jakarta is sinking?

Could this happen to Manila?   It is not because of flooding or forest denudation but because of over use of ground water by  deep wells.   Jakarta sinks at the rate of 25 cm per year, far greater than say 5mm per year at Venice.   Indonesia tried putting up an alternative capital in Borneo.    Who knows what happpened to this?

The thing is the river passing through the city carries with it pollution and filth

Could it happen or is it happening to Manila     

Indonesia moves capital to Nusantara in Borneo because it is sinking; shouldn't Manila too?

Indonesia has begun constructing new capital city to Nusantara in Borneo because it is sinking    The over use of ground water (no place for reservoir) and climate change has subjected Jakarta the current capital city to sinking.

Should not Philippines think of same move.  Most of Manila is below the sea level, it is too subject to climate change (just recall the recent flood) and the numerous reclamation project that is pushing more seawater elsewhere.

The capital is to be moved to Borneo.  

The water system is to be improved as there is salt water intrusion.   Most of Jakarta water comes from wells because of lack of reservoir

Could this be the same situation for Manila?
