There were some  pleasant news yesterday:  the end of the Tigil Pasada, the tirade of the President vs the Piston (dapat matakot na at sumunod sa batas mga ralllyista.  Batas and Jeepney Modernization Law) the Liberation of Marawi city (marked by the death of Hapilon and Omar Maute) and the fall of the declared capital of ISIS (Islamic State of Syria) Raqqa. It was a sad day for ISIS for having collapsed so soon. They deserve this for sowing so much fear and death all the over the world. Such barbarism and violence has to end, and maybe it is the will of our God or their Allah to have mercy on them by ending their rampage.

The latest news is that today, another 13 Maute fighters were killed and the Malaysian professor financier  Dr. Mahmud Ahmad was believed to be included among the dead  The rescued hostages confirmed the death, including the presence of foreign fighters among the Mautes

Faisal (not his real name) a captured told stories about Maute child warriors.  They were given training pay of P15,000 a month, a hefty amount (as if you are an OFW) and promised more if you graduate (5,000 more)  Many joined becauseof the propaganda that soldiers kill women during conflict. However, they had a grizzly task of beheading a target before they could do so. If they cant do it, they are the ones beheaded.   Faisal said he was with the group since he was 10 years old (he is now 17)

He was with the logistics group that supplied ammo and placed them in several houses before the May 23 attack.  He said that the core group was less than 10 when they entered  Marawi but multiplied because Maute members all ready in Marawi  and the prisoners that they freed   He regretted that he did not tell the Mayor of the planned attack and regretted having joined the group because of the destruction wrought in the city by the conflict.

The youth can be hope or the destruction of the land.

Some leaders who propose education of the Muslim youth are right. But a simplistic, linear expanation. But our basic education should unify our people irrespective of the religion (the imams are BI among Muslims, or are they the ones radicalizing the Muslim youth)

A Malaysian militant, and leader and suspected conduit of some P30 million was reported to have died from wounds he sustained,  last June 7, 2017.   Another Maute brother, Ohmarkhayam Maute was reported to have been killed.  Their cadavers are yet to be found and reports confirmed.  This was phoned to AP by Geneeral Ano in an interview  The other Maute brother Abdullah and Hapilon are still believed to be still fighting it out at Marawi city

The Malaysian is identified as  Mahmud bin Ahmad, a former University professor who trained in Afghanistan.    Other suspected  financier and supporter are former mayor of Marawi Omar Salitao Ali.  His brother Fahad Salic also former mayor of Marawi was arrested on June 7, 2017

This is on top of the drugs found in some of the houses of being used as snipers nest:     

One  can surmise hypothesize that the Marawi conflict arose from the following:

1.  ISIS inspiration and support

From CNN P52.2 million cash and P17 million stale check found

3.  Political rivalry (as former mayors were involved)

But they do no know the damage they had wrought into Marawi  -  more than 300,000 evacuees;   more than P10 billion damage in infrastructure, displaced lives, loss of business and economic activity.   And bringing the Philippines on the brink on being a new Iran or Syria

It is good that Martial Law was declared and Philippine authorities acted decisively (although some criticized them to be late and lax too for having allowed the accumulation of stockpiles of firearms ammo and other deadly weapons and food to sustain the terrroristsfor more than a month.  They should be erased from Marawi.  Let them be together to get their 70 virgins reward

No surrender, no prisoners, only total annihilation and destruction of this threat.  They asked for it.

Last week the US govt gave the Philippine Army $150 million worth of modern equipment to fight the terrorists.  They are brand new compared to the previous donations (like the decrepit helicopters)

A number of pundits have questioned the presence of Orion intelligence gathering plane that shares information with PA ground troops

Can these weapons help the PA end the war in Marawi soon?

Habilon even claimed that ISIS supports the Maute.  This is not just rebellion but invasion.   What further proofs do our honorable oppositors need to agree with the declaration of martial law
