Impeachment cross examination of witnesses - a masterclass in logic, being detailed, and critical thinking

It is more fun criticizing

Some people including some senators are shrugging off the nitty gritty of cross exam of the witness, saying its useless (and further triggering off lawyers vs non lawyers in the chamber conflict)  However, for me, as studenet of logic and critical thinking, this hearings just like Corona case are living example of fine thinking:   logic, critical thinking.

So far, yesterday, with cross of Atty Vinluan the defense, tipped the balance of facts in favor  of the defense, if this post may give an opinion:

1.  Unsigned unverified affidavit and comparing this with ICC;

2.  Hearsay prior to the appointment as NBi director and yet makes comment on the investigation report
That further weakens the affidavit of agents which mas made prior to his appointment.   Without             ownership..

3.  Presumed bias due to

     1.  The wife is a congresswoman who endorsed the impeachment
     2.  Theh witness  has a column which has negative view of the person being impeached

4.  The witness was not subpoenad, but volunteered

5.  The witness did not answer on yes or no but argues (and thus leads the court)  and makes his opinion
(to sway court).  Not being called out by the court?

6.  Continuing investigation.   Therefore the affidavit of investigation  being incomplete cant constitute valid and legal evidence vs the perosn being impeached

This post does not intend to sway nor influence the outcome of said proceeding but merely points out the defects in logic, and education on critical thinking.  However this is weak day for the prosecution.

However I want to take advantage of the billions being spent on this proceeding to benefit my self improvement and continuing education

However, the agents of the bureau committed typo errors weakening their testimonies.  And their credibility.  (Not to mention their pending cases)

Senate under attack; its a shame and disgrace that this happened; perpetrators must not go unpunished

It is more fun criticizing

Shots rang out at the Philippine senate and this is a sad day for Philippine government and its governance.  We should be able to fix it, punish the offenders.    We are not in a position to condement any one   But corrective punitive action must take place to place people in correct  place

Pampanga town mayor arrested for demanding bribes

It is more fun criticizing

This could be the start of something new in LGU governance.  It could be a common knowledge that the mayor and LGU SB demand through an intermediary to ask for SOPs for the boys when you seek permits:  Mayors Permit etc Development permit.   And for small projects, they can amount to millions.  Now the LGUs may be afraid.  They wont dare, or face the same fate as the same mayor arrested

Tigilan na pagiging corrupt. Pangingikil sa mga konseho at ng mayor  Public service sana at pag unlad ng bayan ang intindihin

More vigilance from police force to discourage corruption and tongpats.   Even vs Legislative persons, even judges.

It was alleged that the corruptions in that order are DPWH, and LGUs

Kaso paano babawe ang mga financier at mga kandidato sa ginastos sa kanilang kampanya.  Many think and during interviews that jobs in govt (where you can ask bribes, mulct citizens) are the best jobs

Cong Barbers, over all chair of quadcomm orders probe of lying vloggers re quadcomm and his family

It is more fun criticizing

Cong Barbers has ordered the NBI to probe the vloggers on lies about quadcomm proceedings.   Mentioned was the post on alleged drug den where their family was linked.

Many will be more careful.  Posts will be hidden, and tags removed.  Many have all ready howled in protest

Its not martial law but repression of rights and freedome and alleged big time corruption reminds us of the father's unforgettable regime.    Why did many forget and were fooled by the campaign?

It is more fun criticizing

Ex President Du30 press conference

It is more fun criticizing

A subtle call to arms.    Mere statement that only military can stop PBBM and MTR. Will the military protect the constitution.   Theh current governance is fractured, he alleges.   The fomrer President called out the following (corruption allegations)

1.   The the transfer of the P90 b Philphealth funds;
2.   The PHP 1.3t flood control projects
3/   PBBM being an addict

Subject of CIDG NBI DOJ probe? Is seditious?

Fitness of former NBI chief as Philhealth CEO

It is more fun criticizing

That the hospitals threatened to disengage from Philhealth is bad all ready.

The statement of the current Philhealth Chief fmr NBI head does not augur well that sooner, the problem will be fixed.  His statements before an inquiry reeks of power play, drama, rather than solution to the problem.  The guy is selfish.

The lawyer boss and NBI boss are used to wield power and might .  Woe unto you who cross their path.  Maging solution oriented  sana during the pandemic when everybody's help is needed most.

Finding the truth on P6.4 billion worth of shabu that passed through BOC frustrating

Image result for Senate hearing on P6.4 billion shabu importation

From CNN Senate probe into P6.4 billion worth of shabu that passed through BOC

Several senators have expressed frustration and suspicion of outright lying, negligence incompetence and corruption at BOC in collusion with the Chinese businessmen..   The said Chinese had made fools out of the solons, BOC officials and general public.  Here is a crime committed, the drugs are here, there was importation, and yet there is no suspect yet.  The shabu traders taking advantage of the weakness of the customs procedure and systems were able to bring in drugs right under the  very noses of the BOC officials (with their complicity).   Up to now, the drug lords and unidentified.  PDEA has filed a case vs a caretaker Valenzuela RTC.   Here are the weaknesses:

1.  Allowing consignees to import.   A certain Aileen Tatad  of EMT traidingwas a consignee, paid P1,500 per shipment,  How come this allowed?   The consignee does not even know what the shipments are.  Very clearly, BOC allows dummies so that at the end of the day, no one can be held liable.  Turu turuan lang;

2.  The consignee points out to the  broker as the one responsible and knows the details of the shipment

3.  EMT trading a new importer was able to bring in 600 shipments in a matter of  3 months;

4.  She was put in super green lane, a lane reserved to big time multi national importers.  The BOC officials keep on saying that the computer overlooks certain parameters, as if computers think on their own (as noted by Sen Sonny Angara).  Every body knows that the parameters are fed by the encoders or whoever manages the computer

5.  Taguba,, the broker, did not deliver the goods to the consignee whose office is in Binondo but to the Valenzuela warehouse

He also reveals that he pays P27,000 per shipment at BOC as Payola

6.   When customs raided the warehouse, the head of intelligence only had a Letter of Authority, not a search warrant, and the evidence found may be considered illegal and may not stand in court

6.  Up to now 2 months after the raid, no one has been charged.

Also Mr. Richard Tan, who says that the operations  was all ready stopped, was alleged to continue operations even after they were alleged to have been closed by City of Valenzuela  (The Chinese nationals who are there seemed to be having a lot of fun (sa pagbilog ng mga ulo natin. They and BOC officials had a fine day)

Sen Escudero, notes NBI PDEA BOC have not not charged anyone for 600 kgs of shabu, but only several sachets of shabu would merit a gun fight or death.  Why are those govt agencies too timid to file charges?   Why not file case vs the warehouse owner?   Are they getting paid not to file a case, to look theother wahy around

Several reforms are in order:

1.   The use of consignees

2.  The 4 lanes and their parameters

3  The payment of P27,000. per shipment.   Sen Escudero computed that raising the tax per container up by P27,000 could easily raise P98 billion in revenues.    And save many people from additional taxes on fuel, or sugar.

Gen Jovito Palparan, former head of 7th IB of PA, congressmen, arrested today in Sta Mesa

Repost from Rappler

ARRESTED. Former Maj Gen Jovito Palparan presented to the media after his arrest, at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) headquarters in Manila, 12 August 2014. Jose Del/Rappler

Former Gen Jovito Palparan, who has a P2 million bounty on his head (who will get this largesse?) was arrested in Sta Mesa today by composite team of NBI and Naval intelligence officer 3 years after an arrest warrant was issued vs him and he went underground

Palparan earned the aka "berdugo" for the execution of activists  There was an upsurge of extra judicial killings in areas where he was assigned.  He served under the term of  GMA.

He said in the interview at the media when he was presented that he will not opt for hospital arrest (although he complained of frozen shoulder and back injury)  Palaparan appeared thin haggard and long hair and apprarently suffered while hiding

Some questions:

1.   Yesterday's hero,doing his duty under a different govt/adminstration, today's criminal?

2,  Is there justice in the way we treat accused:

   senators in PNP custodial center

  Cornejo in custodial center

  GMA in Philippine Veterans Hospital

  Palparan in common jail

Charged senators ready with their own bombshell/expose of the Aquino adminsitration

Social and political criticisms

Repost from the PDI | September 19, 2013

Two of the three senators charged before the Ombudsman in connection with the P10 billion PDAF scam through Janet  LimNapoles are ready to drop their own bombshell vs the Aquino administration corruption in high places.  They are Sens. Revilla and Estrada.

They will tell all in their privileged speech next week.

The charged senators were alleged to have amassed the following amounts:

Based on complaints prepared by the National Bureau of Investigation, Revilla allegedly pocketed over P224.5 million in kickbacks from Napoles while Estrada supposedly amassed P183.79 million. Enrile supposedly got P172.8 million.  (More than 50 million amounts to plunder wow)

Is it going to be  mud slinging galore?

Or is it going to be war?

The show is getting better.   A la telenovela.
