One week before the Ondoy anniversary, MM was again flooded: Marikina, Pasig, and elsewhere in the Philippines by the onslaught of typhoon Mario
5 years after, and several hearings and debates after what has happened?
1. Have the squatters been removed from the river banks?
2. Have the rivers, creeks and esteros deepened and widened?
3. Have they dredged and widened the floodway? Effectively the floodway is only 30 meters wide (vs actual width of 100 meters and only 4 meters deep vs its actual depth of 10 meters)
4. Have the flood control projects been constructed as scheduled?
5. Have we done something about global warming:
1. Reducing pollution from motor vehicles and power plants.? <on my blog on mv air pollution, nothing is bein done yet. airpollution kills
2. Have we switched to renewables: hydro, solar, wind from the coal power that power gens are using right now (or the govt is still approving coal power plants because they are cheaper.
