Past President Rodrigo Duterte attends Senate hearing on war on drugs

It is more fun criticizing

Except for Senator Risa Hontiveros, the Senate was friendlier to Past President Rodrigo Duterte on its hearing on war on drugs.   The Blue Ribbon committee headed by Senator Pimentel, conducted by Senator Koko Pimentel

However some personalities said that the former President committed crimes against society.  He said he alone and not the policemen is responsible for such accusation of war on drugs.  He said he was not out there to kill but to protect the innocent who are victims of drug lords and addicts.  He said he never ordered the policemen to kill but to defend themselves when making the arrests.

Former Senator DOJ Secretary Leila de Lima who was accused of drug crimes and detained and subsequently freed, was likewise invited to the hearing

This post wonders whether the appearance of the former president has:

1.  Clarified the issues of the drug war;
2.   The admissions and his testimonies would

      1. Exonerate him;
      2.  Put him away for good in jail for criemes vs humanity, and thus satisfy desire for revenge
           and retribution by many

Many noted that the said Senate hearing took out the sting of the Quadcomm hearing
