This post expects the joint INC KOJC peace rally just to be that - peaceful. The mass action was allegedly to be in support of VP Sarah Duterte vs attempts to unseat her via impeachment (and massive corruption in the govt.)
Its either that it is peaceful or extreme that of polarization of society: between Luzonians and Visayas, of politics: betweeen pro Duterte and pro PBBM
Some quarters have all ready issued subpoena to VP Sarah in onnection with alleged "premeidtated" creditble threats by VP on the wee hours of Nov. 23 in her zoom meeting vs PBBM and relatives.
However, one notes that the VP, her office being impeachable enjoys the same immunity as the President.
Furthermore, we should understand the comments of VP Sara (we are not lawyer of that person) says that if she is killed, somebody will take revenge of the said personality. Therefore this is hypothetical, subjunctive mood statement. And reactive at most. If she were to be killed...Most offices and most mainstream media conveniently (or even maliciously) omits the conditional phrase - "If I am killed.....)
Furthermore she has advanced to the proper authorities threats on her life but which were ignored.
The Supreme Court has all ready ruled that Senate in citing for contempt resource persons in Pharmally case is not allowed. The SC ruled that the investigation must strictly observe three rules: 1. That this is in aid of legislation. 2, The rights of the resource persons must be respected 3. It must observe its rules.
And yet yesterday, they detained the CS of OVP, a lawyer...
The detention as a result of contempt is rules as abuse of authrotiy.
We observe comments by former president: on 1. On answerable by yes or no. 2. On ansswering contents of affidavit that he does not have a copy of as being improper or not allowed. Or like a question of a partylist young congressman on allegation about deposit which violated law on bank secrecy. That they fail to observe proper conduct of inquiry, and being accusatory at time (not reating the resource person with respect to his rights) make the members of HOR subject o ridicule and/or clueless to what they are doing and may not give high points for them come reelection time
Hence the calls for the quadcomm to disband. Clearly the topics being dsscussed were executive in nature, and if oversight, then indeed the Constitutional body, COA can investigate. Or if legalities are involved then NBI and/or DOJ can investigate. (There is a joke going on regarding a junk food and a coffee shop as the origin of Grace Piatto for which they offered a prize of P1M) The joke is on who?
The fomer President must be afforded proper respect as former head of the country
As lewmakers, may we swuggest that they respect laws and ruling as they go about their business
VP Sara was advised because of her recent rants in a recent press conference: that she will cut the head of PBBM, get the body of late Apo and throw this to WPS. This maybe due to height of her frustration with regards to OVP budget, COA audit her confidential funds, and Dep Ed ending.
That PBBM does not know how to govern and lead goes back to her because of her Dep Ed performance and audit results
The OVP must be more specific on her accusation vs PBBM incompetence. As we know there were specific achievements that PBBM had. Nothing from her office
Loyalty to her country and to her office dictates that she should not have done said anything.
VP Duterte, being checkmated into a corner calls for a press conference, and says these awful things under duress. How unwise of her to call for desecration of the olds remains to be thrown at WPS.
But one can say that having felt betrayal. They went into a Uniteam for a winning team, for PBBM to win at Visayas and Mindanao and VPD to win in Luzon. The latter to be given immunity for ICC on EJK. But now her budget has been cut and FPRD will be thrown to ICC after all.
But OVP has to explain her use of funds in OVP and at DepEd properly to the public. They did not look nice. Even her Usec Densing at Dep Ed looked ugly for the school building program (Densing was a colleague professor at a GSB and was surprised at Pimentels accussation, given that they are both from Mindanao. I hope these are false)
In a conciliatory move, as advanced by Sen Zubiri, the Senate wants to restore the budget for OVP
Although the proegressive block is seething with moves to impeach the VP. We learn that her former underling has proofs of misbehavior by the VP in her use of confidential funds.
Will this conflict end.? Will we see secession of Mindanao from Luzon? Who will be better off with this secession Mindanao - being land of opportunity or Luzon being source of IRA?
We were in a resort for about 3 days and 2 nights in Bicol. The resort was reported to ge owned by a party list congressman from the Southern Luzon area.
Little did we know that he will be featured in today's headline and to be mentioned by Sen Joel Villanueva and OVP. Are the nasty things they mention about the said owner true?
The budget hearing for the Office of the Vice President did not turn out good and to be uneventful. Some say that it was intended by the detractors of the VP to embarrass /piss her off. Some say that the OVP was a spoiled brat who does not want to be questioned (Some even lampooned the event likening this to a thesis defense where the presentor says she waives her Q and A portion. (The panel can give her an F!)
The panel for budget hearing deferred her hearing for some later date.
