The govt is set to start distributing rice at P20.00/kg in the Visayas.  This post comments:

1.   It is to be financed by the LGU;  it is not an organic P20.00 rice;   It costs P33.00/kg and the P13.00 difference is to be funded by LGU.

2.  Why come out it with this during the election period.?  It is clearly politicking to time this move during a campaign period.   What is the stand of COMELEC?   It is to be noted that admin candidates are weak in Visayas and Mindanao, arising from other issues.

3.  Others say that the rice is Peg2 rice -  substandard and finely ground suitable for pets livestock and other animals.

Comelec chair George Garcia seemed to be offended  that a noon time show participant does not know anything about Comelec.  Big Deal.  The said contestant was to be invited.   How can such a great body be petty, and wants to be in limelight of Soc Med.  Are there are other better things to do?

    1.  Comedians (they become laughing stocks of public and colleague.

    2.  Incompetents

    3.   Ex cons (3 in Senate)  how many more at Congress

    4.  Alleged drug addict at the highest position

The latest news is that former head of Comelec Andres Bautista has been indicted (charged) with bribery charges in USA together with 3 others.  

The allegation is that this is related to the procurement of election machines.  The long arm of the law caught up with them.  Are there cases related to bribery during the election

CNN CA bypasses constitutional positions

Several constitutional positions - Comelec commissioners, COA  were bypassed during the last session of Commission of Appointments due to lack of quorum.   Perhaps it is really a courteous way of letting the  incoming administration have a free hand in selection of nominees. 

The past Senate should be congratulated for this gracious act of delicadeza.   There was past regimes of passing midnight actions and appointments.

Inquirer Comelec disputes IOM claims

International Observer Mission claimed that the 2022 elections did not meet the standards of fair and honest election because it was marred by vote buying, red tagging, disinformation, police  presence, election fraud, violence against local officials, and killings.  COMELEC has answered all but one, ie  vote buying.  .

That isolated cases were generalized is an illogical and flawed thinking  A few cases of failed VCM does not make the automated voting a failure (900/106,000 total VCM)  .  Inferences and inductive are flaws  in logical reasoning and should be defects only from LDC but not from Western nations.  That the local officials and senators were all ready proclaimed as duly elected and now we now conducting  a national Board of Canvass for President and Vice President belie  their allegations.  How can they be guilty of flawed non critical thinking?

Why would foreigners meddle in our election?   Did somebody pay them commission them to this observation?   Shall we be forever under the mercy of Westerners, foreigners?   Are they funded by the enemies of BBM, Duterte?

Comelec launched  5 days ago the precinct finder.  It worked well for me.  But others are complaining because they could not find their precinct.

It is really a time for evolution and innovation.  The campaign strategies and techniques hve radically changed in the Philippine setting.   Perhaps since 2016

It used to be campaign sorties:   house to house, miting de avance, meeting with the purok campaign leaders vote buying, cheating, terrorism

But now modern technologies are at work

1.  Use of social media:

     YT

     Face book

     IG and more

2.  Through these media you have:

     1.  YT of rallies and caravan

     2.  Trolls to create content for the favored candidate, or neutralize their accucastions;

     3.  Influencers:    Justice Carpio, Fmr Senate Pres Enrile, 

3.  Expensive  events:

   

     1.  Caravans

     2   Events/rallies

     3.  With generous t shirts and allowances

4.  Surveys contra surveys

    1.  SWS Publicus, OCTA, and own spontaneous surveys

    2.  Interviews of citizens at YT

 5.  Disruption of election results via Smartmatic and Comelec

Its two weeks to go. Whoever used the best combination of activities and resources will surely win

But fear factors are introduced Various scenarios are published:

     1.  CCP is allegely advising and supporting  VP Robredo

     2.  Scenarios:

          1.  BBM wins, but is DQ's either at Comelec and SD is promoted as Pres 

               BBM camp causes destabilization campaign

         2   LR wins and the BBM SD causes destablization

         3.  If there is trouble, PDU3 declares Martial law, CCP NDF joins the fray

Sayang sana we conduct this peacefully.  We are engaged in legal democtratic processes disrupt  our peace and progress

The Chinese Confucius have a term for this.  The REN man the superior man.  Only the Superior man has the right to be civil servant.   And indeed while working for a renowned school, the Chinese students enrolling in the said grad school have several masteral and doctorate degrees from UK and Australia

Here in the country, aside from allowing individuals with court cases (not convicted or convicted yet) we see uneducated candidates.  

It is indeed painful to see national icons stuttering for want of words and wisdom in the  debate.   And to sense non sense in bearded leftist leaning candidates were saying.  Even a local lgu execs was winging it with regards to governance and finer points of international relations.  

One was erudite but seems to lack grinding his nose on administrative matters  ie running people around him.   A lady candidate was seen differing between what she was saying and what she went through

What is your prediction.?  I do not like the winner in the survey but from the looks of it he is going to be the winner of the 2022 Presidential election.  

This post wonders why there is such a strong following despite all the mud that has been thrown to him?

Is it because he is good looking as well as his running mate that the young voters who comprise the majority are attracted to him?  Or may be they do not know his past well enough.  Or that many think that the sins of the father cant be the sin of the  son.

                                             Mataas na ngayon.  P1,000 lowest, up to P5,000

Last Tuesday, galing ako sa Norte sa Region 1. In one of the vote rich towns in vote rich province it was reported that a mayoralty candidate was giving away P1,000 to every registered voter and the hundreds of tricycles lined up in front of his factory attest to the veracity of the report.    Even bigger amount was given to barangay head.   In one of the cities, it was reported that the level of vote buying was at P5,000 per, and the budget for the election at city mayoralty level was placed at P200 million. Wow

Just what can we expect from this candidates if they bought the votes?  Surely there are financiers and ROI is expected.  This coupled with many violation in the poster rules, is condemn able how many candidates made fun and mockery of election rules.  How can we expect good government and progress improvement from these leaders. Shall our country be better if our misconduct with regards to governance and compliance is worsening?

Wow the automated voting of Comelec is wowing many citizens for showing sizable number of precincts and votes, running into millions barely an hour after the closing of voting

Initial election returns shows Duterte to be leading the presidential race with sizable lead about 600t lead over (at of 6 pm today)  second ranking candidate Grace Poe.  Administration candidate Roxas is third.

For Vice President it is Bong2 Marcos. He leads over Admins canddate Leni Robredo by about 200t votes (it is a close lead)

Justice Carpio has argued that she is not a a natural born Filipino but naturalized and thus can not run as President under the 1986 constitution

There are two issues against her:  that of her residency and being a natural born citizen.

The biggest issue against her, according to one in the know I talked this morning is about her citizenship;
1.  At the time she "reacquired" her Filipino citizenship she used her US passport 7x.  If indeed she was all ready a Filipino citizen, by deed she would have used her Philippine passport.

2.  Our Philippine constitution:  the 1935 and the 1986 does not guarantee that you maintain your Filipino status once you acquire another citizenship as in the Spanish constitution.  Once the citizenship is renounced, as in the case of Sen Grace Poe, the only way to reacquire this is by naturalization, thus her status of naturalized citizen

But Section 3 of RA 9225 (AN ACT MAKING THE CITIZENSHIP OF PHILIPPINE CITIZENS WHO ACQUIRE FOREIGN CITIZENSHIP PERMANENT) says that after taking an oath, gives her back her status of natural born citizen, after having been a citizen of foreign country.  Did she take this oath

This is unreported in the newspapers or radio.  Another broad day hold up took place today some several meters away from the INC church and the check point for COMELEC.

The criminals gave gotten bolder and hell bent on shaming the local dad and head of PNP.

They are becoming braver and getting away with their crimes.  They are wiser and faster than the police counter part.

The police must keep up.  Or otherwise, they will be laughing stock of the mouse.
