It seems odd that the Korean shows and the talk shows were being replaced by real life dramas at the hallowed halls of the govt.   It would seem uncomfortable that the personalities are being embarrassed and subject to public ridicule.   Telenovela sponsored by taxpayer (even borrowed money)

What is the purpose of the publicity -  for aid of legislation or getting media mileage.   Its time our honorable lawmakers, get down to work.  And let the investigators do the investigation and/or the witchhunt   How much time were spent by staff to get the receipts, and the owners of business, 

Do we need improvement in govt code of conduct and ethics?   Are the investigators clean so that they are entitled to cast the stone.

1.  Some videos have different headlines and content.  Some are clickbaits

2.  Some questions being thrown at the hallowed grounds of the legislature reflect the ignorance of the one asking question.  They did not not know what they were talking about?   And they become students of the resource person, presenter.  It must be the fault of the video presentor author to make it appear, that indeed the one raising the question and that say Quimbo was wrong, and could not answer and is therefore hiding something.  

As in the case of the difference between the revenue source, and the budget?   What happened to the diference?  (That is the deficit spending and the Keynesian strategy regarding govt budgetting)

And about the question on funds of the govt, coming from the different revenue sources.  These are merely labels for the allocation. When govt funds enter into a pool, would you be able to identify the source.

There was an alleged birthday bash for PBBM where in the Duran Duran band was flown in to celebrate the 67th birthday of PBBM.  It was supposed to be surprise from his friends.   

It was not timely as the country was still reeling from floods, and there were questions on his purported 5000 flood control projects.  And some of the donors for the event, estitmated at $1 million.   was asking for a P0.46 increase per m3 of water.  Not ethical also.  Not timely

Can we have some decency and ethics in this govt.  We all work very hard to pay taxes:  and this.....

The capture (surrender ?) of self proclaimed appointed Son of God  Pastor Apollo Quiboloy probably marks the end of era for self proclaimed Messiah, and gives meaning to Scriptures admonition of being wary of false prophets (or even false Messiah)

He is not God, and the alleged abuse, of children and women, profligacy need to be investigated among pastors, heads of churches.  We had transactions with an alleged Bishop (with only 85 members) who owns two multi million peso condos in QC.

More discernment needed among the flock of their heads.  There was a head of church involved in multi billion peso scam....(What happened?)

VP Sara did not answer many of the questions asked during the initial hearing for the budget of her office.   She later did not attend the hearing yesterday which other members of the committee took as a boycott and insult. Ms Sara sent a letter to the committee saying that she has submitted all the docs and requirements for the budget.

It should be observed though that there issues from COA which needs to be addressed as former head of Dep ed.

Elsewhere it was said:

1  That only two persons at Congress has full control of the budget?  (She alleges that her requsest for

     schoolbuilding was only x amount.  However, what was approved was much higher  and which

     was to be apportioned to other members of the Congress... Hmmm Dapat investigathan din)

2.  That her office can operate without a budget in case her office is defunded as is a threat

Earlier, Cong. Marcoleta called out that the OVP should be respected.

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy snd 4 others have been arrested (surrendered?) last Sunday and are now under the custody of PNP. The accused have posted bail for bailable offenses.  However for the Pasig RTC case of trafficking, it non bailable.

This case is a big blow to religious leaders who can be charged and jailed.   Connection with powers that be cant guarantee that a religious leader cant be charged and jailed.   

The mighty and powerful all not look helpless and worthy of pity.   Let us pray for them.

It is paradoxical that the victory of Carlos Yulo for two gold medals in the Olympics and millions of prizes should be an occasion to be a happy.  But it did not.  It deepened the family feud.

Price gouging policies being proposed by lady US Presidential Candidate - sort of unfair and contradictory to govt actions

In the battle for US Presidency, and lady candidate is proposing an anti gouging law that would punish retailers from profiting from price increases during inflation.  Why punish the trader when the govt:

     1.  Has increased interest rate from the Federal Reserve.   The trader has no choice but to pass on the cost

     2.  The printing of too much money naturally causes the price of goods to rise because of oversupply of money.  More money vs goods means higher price of good.

These price increases are the results of govt actions, not by traders.  Traders know that higher prices result in lower sales, and lower margin.

Certainly this is populist policy and very likely to win votes.  The Philippine geniues might copy this.

More thinking should be made in this proposed policy if ever the candidate wins

South Korea's economy stagnating?

All that goes up must come down.    SK is one of the top 10 economies in the world, despite the fact that in 1950, PHL aided Korea.  They were very poor.  But leadership will and the little help from USA made SK an economic powerhouse. 

However this video thinks SK is stagnating.   Coming from both internal and external factors.   External factors:    slow down in world economy, threat or war, the Covid pandemic, energy problem.

Internally, it is because of complacency of Chaebol management which are now in 2nd and 3rd generation management and leadership.   As they say, first generation builds it, second generation spends and enjoys it, the third generation runs the enterprise to the ground

If you happen to be at the province, you will see all ready many tarpaulins which are clearly creating awareness in the minds of the voter.  Since this is not the campaign period yet, COMELEC says there is no violation.

The current controversy between and among personalities at the legislative and executive are results of power struggle and positioning for the 2028 Presidential elections.   One trying to topple and outdo the other.   Creating havoc in the legislative and executive agenda and in the march of the Philippines towards progress.

May we we work more for the country rather than personal ambition.

Due to typhoon Enteng.   Virtual river.   Traffic was at standstill.

There was too much flood since Monday brought about by now Typhoon Enteng.  Rizal was heavily hit.  Most towns except Binangonan and Angono were heavily flooded.   But Pililla (at the church and embarcadero Hulo)  Namay Morong, Pinugay Baras, Cardona, Antipolo, Cainta  (Imelda Highway was iimpassable), San Mateo, Taytay,  Marilaque,  Sampaloc   (Tanay) Rodriguez were flooded.    We could not imagine flooding at high places like Antipolo, Tanay, Pinugay. and  Tanay.

Other areas in Cavite, Paranaque and Las Pinas, Navotas, Bulacan were observed. NLEX was virtually a river.

Several theories were all ready advanced by netizens as causes:

1.  Over development at the mountains.  So the LGUs and regulatory bodies were blamed.   As in Antipolo and Pililla (3 subdivision projects are ongoing at Bugarin).

We are quickk to blame the govt... But the citizens bear responsibility too.

Others observed by this post:

2.  Reclamation at  Laguna Lake and Manila Bay.   Surely, the volume of the Bay and the Lake decreased with the reclamation.   Bulakenos especially from Balagtas blame the new International Airport being developed at their town as the cause of the severe flooding

3.  Improper solid waste disposal clogging the flood control system.   

     We should have proper solid waste disposal.   We should follow initiative on recycling, banning plastic containers etc.

4.  Lack of masterplan, and comprehensive total flood control projects

     The secretary of DPWH said so.

5.   Narrower clogged waterways

      1.   Since Ondoy, call outs were made to dredge Manggahan floodway.  It has become cesspool for

            illegal settelrs.  The floodway has ceased functioning 100% since before Ondoy and thus unable

            to rapidly drain Marikina river

     2.  The riverbank project lessened the water carrying capacity of riviers.   They have become 

          narrower

     3.  Occupation of accretion.    The sediments deposited by river were titled and occupied by 

          private land owners.  The original areas of the river should have been preserved.

         And now we are blaming the govt?   Some developers in the Marikina watershed were seen

          to be narrowing creeks;   in gated subdivsiions, there is no flooding because they tripled the

          volume of creeks:  widened and made them deeper.

     4.  Killing creeks and other waterways.   We observe this with other developers and landowners.

           They build over creeks

6.  Climate change

     Everywhere, from Europe, China, and South America we see cases of intense rain and flooding.  We 

     are subject to this phenomenon.   Its not only China that suffers from intense rain and flooding.  We 

     too.  Unbelievable amount of rainfall are brought by typhoons.  Due to elevated temparature of the

     ocean brought about by global warming, and too much carbon.

     We contribute to global warming.   We can help lessen this:

     1.  Conserving electricity;

     2.  Less global traavel by jet or ship;

     3.  Riding the tricycle and smoke belching jeep;

     4.  Plant trees

6.  Perhaps this is part of the end times.

Let us help those who were affected by floods.

Let us mind this flood mitigating measures when the weather is fine, and not after disaster strike

The Dems candidate for President has been observed and criticized for flip flopping on many issues. (Computers are equipped with flip flop switches)  Clearly politicking or forgetting what has been said.  We sincerely hope that she wins her campaign en route to the White House

It is sort of cruel to watch an elderly leader commit this gaffe.  It is pitiful.   He wont get the respect of the rest of the world.  And his people also laughing stock.  We are glad we are from this country and not theirs.

It was unusual that almost all the towns of Rizal were flooded:   Morong, Baras, Tanay, Teresa, Pililla, Cainta, Antipolo,  Rodriguez and  San Mateo.   These are all familiar places

All due to rains brought by Typhoon Enteng.
